Excerpt:
One moment, the stray cat he took back home was watching him shower. The next, a young and handsome slender man took the place of the cat.
All this while Max thought he was going insane talking to a cat...he was actually talking to a shifter?
Pissed, Max caged the stranger with his arms, pushing the young man against the tiles.
It was not the best move. Their bodies touched and Max became aware of his slick skin pressing up against the stranger’s. Worse, Max’s dick grew hard and he could similarly smell the other guy’s arousal.
Instinct made him pin the stranger’s arms above his head. The handsome young man bit his bottom lip, drawing Max’s attention to the curve of his mouth.
This guy was practically begging Max to claim those lips, plunder it...and do so much more. Oh. Max had plenty of things he wanted to do to this playful little weretabby.
Hell no.
Max needed to get his head out of the gutter. Assert his control, find out what the fuck this was all about.
Answer me,
he practically growled out the words.
Any other weaker shifter would be quivering in their toes now, would be terrified of a domineering werelion. The young man stared up at him.
God. You’re so much hotter up close, Max,
the stranger breathed.
What was wrong with this guy? What right did this deceitful tabby have, calling Max by his name so casually like that?
Who are you? What do you want with me?
He pushed the guy just to scare him a little, maybe give him some incentive to start telling the truth.
Instead, it had the opposite effect. The man moaned and rubbed his body against Max. Shit. That didn’t bode well for Max’s erection. At this rate...no. Max refused to think about that.
Why did this guy’s body fit so well against his?
Mind out of gutter.
Must get some answers.
Those were Max’s priorities.
Chapter 1
In sleep, Maximillian Lionheart reached for his favorite pillow—well, his mate.
His arms found an armful of nothing. With his head still feeling like it was full of fluff and not entirely awake, he opened his eyes to slits.
Shifters could see well in the dark. He expected to see the slender curve of Pat’s back. It would be so easy to tug Pat close, pull him into a bear hug. Max might be a lion, but felines enjoyed cuddling immensely.
There was no one next to him in bed. Flopping on his back, Max stared at his ceiling. Sniffing the air didn’t help ease the ache inside his
