About this ebook

The purpose of prayer is that there should be a personal relationship between the Lord Almighty and the believer. Worship has to do with the relationship between God Almighty and the believer. Thus worship is very much a form of prayer.
In every relationship, two parties are involved. In worship God acts and the believer responds.
In Bible times, it was normal for the Almighty to reveal Himself to His own and in response to that revelation they fell down in worship. There is much noise today but few know anything about the manifest presence of God! It is as if we worship an absent Lord!
The need for restoration to Bible type worship is evident all over the body of Christ. It is with a heart cry that the believer would again live in the very immediate presence of God and worship Him from His immediate presence that this book is sent out.
By the grace of God Almighty, a second book, “The Practice of Worship” will be written in the future as my own experience of worship is deepened and heightened.
May the Lord use this book to raise up worshippers of His great glory and may His wondrous Name be exalted, magnified and honoured.

The Art of Worship - Zacharias Tanee Fomum

1

Worship

Worship is the prostrate adoration of the Holy Presence of the Almighty, often without words. In 1979, when I went to Mont Febe ¹ to wait for the Lord to show me His glory, I waited for Him all of Thursday morning and He did not appear to me. I waited for Him all of Thursday afternoon and He did appear to me. All of Thursday evening and Thursday night, He did not appear to me. Friday morning, afternoon, evening and night, He did not appear to me. On Sunday morning, He still did not appear to me. On Sunday afternoon He had still not appeared to me. On Sunday afternoon He still had not come to me. Then around 7.15 pm He came in!!! His brightness, His glory and His splendour filled the room overwhelmed me. I could not look at His glory. I ran and hid under the bed and hid my face. I lay down under the bed with my face down. I worshipped, I spoke no word to him. I was too overwhelmed to speak.

My lying there in His presence totally overwhelmed by His presence is worship.

No one can worship the Lord and the god self at the same time.

3

Worship

All true worship begins in God. Worship is the response of a man to a divine act.

4

Worship

Aperson who is overwhelmed by God’s presence can normally fall, bow, or lie prostrate before God as an acknowledgement of the greatness of the Almighty and as an acknowledgement of his own nothingness. That falling, bowing, stooping or lying prostrate before God can

shout to God,

Sing to God,

Pray to God,

Dance to God,

Be still before the Lord,

Be dead silent before God.

5

Worship

True worship begins with the end of the self life.

Yaounde 03/05/91

6

Worship

The worship of God begins at self surrender to God; if a person refuses to surrender his all to the Lord, he cannot worship.

Yaounde 13/02/92

7

Worship

Yaounde 18/03/93

8

Yaounde 18/03/93

9

Worship

Worship is to take a permanent position at feet of the Lord, counting Him to be all and counting oneself to be absolutely nothing.

Yaounde 18/03/03

10

Worship

Only the meek and the lowly in heart can worship the Lord! The proud of heart want others to see them, know them and worship them. Such have no place in their heart for the Almighty and so cannot worship Him.

Yaounde 14/06/94

11

Worship

Worship is preceded by the removal of all idols from the heart. Those who have one or more idols on their hearts cannot worship the living God.

Yaounde 18/06/95

12

Worship

Divine worship and divine service cannot be separated. Those who do worship Him serve Him. Those who do not worship Him are not serving Him. Whatever they do in His name is not His service but the service of self.

13
