At this stage, the gambler typically spends more time gambling. He not just increases his time in gambling, but he also spend huge amount of money as well.

    Stage 2: losing

The losing stage may last for around 5 years or even more. During this time, the compulsive gambler bets bigger amount of money and he steps up the stride and the regularity of his gambling activity. If asked, he will typically dismiss it just like a long line. He will insist that he can recover for his losses right away. This stage is also known as the self-delusion stage wherein the gambler doubles down the bets and then bets on long shots as well even if he has the feeling that he will eventually loss the game. This will result in more loses than winnings and this practice is known as CHASING LOSSES. This stage will eventually result in other negative behavior like borrowing money from others, lie and deception, boasting about winnings and major setback

    Stage 3: desperation

This stage of Pathological gambling, the gambler may go through it within a short span of time only. It may last for few years or so. During this stage, the gambler will spend all of his time just thinking about gambling and how to do it perfectly. He will only focus on how to get the money to be able to go on in gambling, what will be the next bet, when and where to find the best ways to beat the system, how to become a top gambler along the way. This is the stage where the gambler is out of control. He cannot think of anything else, but to gamble and win. His negative behaviors will progress as he loses a game. He may suffer from lying, covering his pains, becoming angry with himself and blaming others for his misfortune and his home life will eventually deteriorate as well.

    Stage 4: hopelessness

In this stage, the gambler may lose all his hope in life, he feels like giving up; he will not care anymore if he will eat or if his health will deteriorate. He will wish as if he was dead already and he has the tendency to commit suicide at this stage. Compulsive gambler may feel like there is no hope anymore, no one understands and care about them.

    Stage 5: recovery
