    Chapter 1

    The white Audi Q5, for about a kilometer, or so, now, was traveling irregular along the roadway, much to the annoyance of other road users. At times, the vehicle occupied both lanes. Other times, it would swing from one lane to the other. Once, it traveled in the lane, which conveyed traffic in the opposite direction, for a few meters before suddenly swinging across to its regular lane.

    There was almost a constant honking of horns, from other vehicles, as motorists attempted to warn the driver of the Audi of his dangerous driving practices. Their warnings, however, went unheeded.

    Watch what you are doing, fool! Are you drunk, or what? One motorist, who bravely overtook the Q5, shouted while passing.

    The driver of the Q5 appeared not to have heard the motorist's remark, for his careless and sometimes reckless driving continued. On one occasion, he narrowly missed colliding with a car traveling in the opposite direction.

    The skilful manoeuvrings of the other motorist prevented the collision, however.

    "Jeezas Chris', Mike! Are you trying to kill us all? What's the devil the matter with you? Are you sick or something?

    Mike, stop the car, please! The elder of two females in the Audi Q5 uttered angrily.

    The driver of the Q5, the elder of the two males on board, Michael Redding, granted his wife her request and pulled over, albeit to a shaky stop.

    As soon as the vehicle stopped, Mike's wife, Annie-Mae, turned to face him.

    With her back leaning against the closed door, she yelled at him.

    Mike! What's the hell the matter with you, zig-zagging across the road like that? Do you want to cause an accident? Do you want to kill us all, uh Mike!?

    Mike looked around at the children, Mike Junior, 17, and Marva-Ann, 15, to get their reaction before replying to Annie-Mae.

    They both appeared relaxed and uninterested in the issue at hand.
