Reviews for Lonely Planet Sydney

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Probably the most useful part of the book is the tear-out map of Sydney which I made use of extensively. The information the book provides on sights, monuments and must-see places is exceptional, however the material on eating, accommodation and shopping dates quickly. Sydney is also undergoing major changes in its public transport infrastructure, so the information in that area in this book will rapidly become obsolete. Useful and convenient to carry around, but don't take any information given as gospel.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Considering I had been to Australia several times before it still proved a very useful book as this was my first Xmas & New Year in Sydney, so knowing where to go in the awful "rain"! of Christmas Day and massive crowds at New Year was a boon. My only criticism is the exorbitant PRICE: 34.99 Aussie dollars is just RIDICULOUS. Lonely Planet need to look at their overheads because they will price themselves out of the market if that's the general level of their pricing!
