Evans Masowa

Born on a sterling September morning in 1991, and named after his mother's favorite reggae music sensation, Bob Dylan, Dylan is the last born child and only son to the late Millicent Masowa who raised him single handedly. Dylan's love for literature draws from his mother's explicit love affair with books. "This is her gift to me, it is my inheritance, I mean where else could I go?" he once said about literature. Life and destiny did not particularly come easy to him until he discovered his passion for teaching and writing and his aptitude for understanding at the age of 18.

    Introduction:

    What is love?

The question of what love is has puzzled the world from the beginning of time and for the countless generations that followed. Love is one thing that has outlived every generation, it has been present in everyone's life and yet we are still to understand what it really is. Love has something about it that makes everyone want to feel it, to have it, share it and receive it. Some venture so much as to say that love makes the world go around. What I do know is that if you do not understand love it will cause you pain and joy, it will make you feel dead and alive all at the same time, and you want to let go but all you can do is hold on.

The era of information has somewhat handicapped the world and left it devoid of any understanding, the problem of too much information is having to choose which is truth, for much of the information circulating is not, just deception. So clouded by global moral degradation, the fog of perversion and the general disregard for what is natural; the true meaning of love has been covered by a blanket of lies and deception. Leaving behind the true meaning of love, to chase the winds of deception their end is confusion, the world has its own explanation of love and of everything else, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8) The world in the words of A.W Tozer has lost God amid the wonders of His world and we Christians are in danger of losing God amid the wonders of His word.

Perversion, wickedness, deception and waywardness has led the people of God to a misinterpretation of what love is. The attitude the world has taken towards love is posing a danger of filtering in to the Church, if it has not already corrupted the Church from the simplicity in the way it perceives love.

Explaining love as mere emotions or feelings is not only wrong but also an insult to God who not only declares He is love but demonstrated that He is love. The source of love is not a physical fountain, rather than erotic love is more spiritual. According to Paul’s theology, love is a consequence of faith in God; it is not a product of human emotions or feelings. Love is a divine gift which occurs only when we allow Christ to live within us, as Paul elaborates ". . . . . because the love of
