About this series
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Very often we come across arguments about masturbation- arguments plagued with the conflicting opinions on masturbation. These kinds of arguments stem from the fact that Bible hasn’t explicitly warned against masturbation.
This short book aims at helping people to understand how masturbation is actually a sin no matter how we try to justify our actions. When we are able to understand the true nature of masturbation, we will be able to come out of it easily and permanently.
I have been counseling the youth for the past 2 decades. Now I am bringing out my book on masturbation and addictions on the request of my Church members. When I prayed about it, I too felt that God can use me as His instrument to reach more people through books than I can ever reach people in and around my city. I hope this book helps you in getting delivered from the sin of masturbation.
You might wonder why I was requested to write a book on masturbation.
Am I a Pastor? Nope!
Am I a Minster? Nope!
Am I a Preacher? Nope! Not yet!
Then why?
Because I, a filthy unworthy sinner (saved by His grace now) used to be someone who was so severely entangled in sins… addicted to such an extent that it disrupted my life, relationships and at some point my job. I was into porn addiction, sex-addiction and compulsive masturbation; I hated any kind of interruption and distraction. In the process I ended losing everything I would have otherwise treasured! I lost all the wonderful people who touched my life. Lost the great opportunities that came my way in my career. Being addicted will make us lose sense of what matters and what doesn’t. It makes us value people, things and situations differently.
I was a topper in my school and universities, and had a great job. Then somewhere, I lost interest in everything. Nothing was good enough for me. Soon I became unproductive in all areas except sex. I lost a decade doing nothing and became depressed. There were days when I had the urge to grab complete strangers and do nasty things I wouldn’t dare to do if I were not so addicted.
I do believe that I can help people as I have been in the worst place than most of them will ever imagine. I was pretty messed up. God helped me to get saved through a divine intervention. He filled me with happiness, peace and joy.
I come from a normal family. I was raised a Catholic and like most Catholics I never touched my Bible. Masturbation started in a harmless manner. Sadly, I didn’t know that I can get addicted to that extent. Some people are wired that way; they get absorbed into sins easily than others. But by knowing God and building a strong relationship with Him, we can nail our old desires to the cross and become renewed in Him. I am a different person now. The old Pete is dead for good.
God helped me to become a Christian. I tasted real happiness and joy after getting saved. I was truly addicted. God delivered me. And He will deliver you too! By God’s abundant grace I have been set free. I am happily married to a wonderful person and I am back to working. My prayers and love to those who are reading this book. God bless you and your loved ones.
