Duomo
Symbol of Milan, the Duomo is a majestic Lombard-Gothic cathedral, dedicated to Saint Mary Nascent.
Its construction began towards the end of 1.300 AD by order of Archibishop Antonio Saluzzo and his cousin Gian Galeazzo Visconti and it took 500 years to be completed.
The cathedral is adorned with 3200 statues and 135 spires on the highest of which (108,5 meters) is positioned the statue of the Virgin Mary covered with 3,900 gold sheets

Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace)
Since 1100, the palace was the home of the family that ruled Milan (the Visconti and Sforza).
It has been used through centuries even by the Spanish and Austrian rulers.
Inside, temporary art exhibitions are held and it houses the Cathedral Museum which displays architectural elements, statues, antique stained glass and precious vestments from the Duomo

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
The Galleria owes its name to Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy. Its construction dates back to 1870. It is one of the most distinctive hangouts in Milan, connecting Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala.
The Galleria is called Milan’s drawing room
as it is full of luxury shops, historic cafés and restaurants.
It is covered by two iron and glass-vaulted arcades
