About this series
Teenager Alexandra Eidyn never suspected that her annual trip to Grandmother's house to spend the summer would this time destroy her plans to attend Oxford University in the fall and instead propel her into the World of Vampires and eventually to the gates of Heaven and Hell. On the way, she'd fall in love — something she'd come to think wasn't even possible for her — with two people, become a fugitive from justice, and be a casualty of the Church to which she'd turned for help. She withdraws into a vampire society she never knew existed but that has been waiting for her the last ninety years, and learns that the Divine World has prophesied of her coming for millennia. All this following her grandmother's revelation of a family connection to royalty that has been kept secret for generations.

- Call Me Missy: Traveling Ireland with a Vampire: Vampire Tales, #2

It was not a defining moment in his life, and yet it was a memory that would linger for the rest of his days, and even on his deathbed, she would be his last, purest thought. He was touring Ireland on his own in the fall of the year, and just outside Galway he saw her at the side of the road, hidden by fog and mist at first, hitchhiking, as so many young women seemed to do in that country at the time. Although, he would never admit it to anyone other than himself, it was the sexual intrigue that, after spotting her cocooned in a hooded parka, drove him to slow initially and then put on the brakes. He'd done it a couple of times before and had spent a few hours traveling with a young woman, one on her way to Killarney, the other to the Cliffs of Moher. Always, they abandoned him at their destination. At first, this young lady seemed no different. "Call me Missy," she volunteered. "I'm on my way to Donegal." But where the others had been a trifle uneasy and rather closed mouthed, she seemed settled at first, even downright comfortable, if less than talkative in the passenger seat an arm's reach away from this man she knew nothing about. He wouldn't call her beautiful, but something about her face produced a longing within him that he knew he should have never permitted.
- One Blessing, Two Curses: Of Vampires, Maidens and Bunnies: Vampire Tales, #3

So it was that one day just after sundown she was in a meadow caring for a lost bunny rabbit, when a nasty old vampire happened upon her cooing to the cuddly creature. She was all bent over on the ground making over it when she looked up and saw me standing over her. Such a fright I've never before seen, and since I was still going through my cruel stage, this delighted me no end. I let her run, only getting close enough to encourage her panic so that she might renew her futile effort to outdistance me. I drew up behind her as she faltered from fatigue, and when she fell, I was upon her before she could resign herself to her fate and her panic was still in full bloom, her heart racing beyond itself. She was hot and sweaty, her neck salty and oily and smoother than a newborn's. I suckled her first, just to taste the deliciousness of her femininity, and then my teeth crashed through to the warm nectar, and all her life flowed from that gorgeous little body into old Alu, disgusting corruptor of all things fair.

Lumi Laura
My name is Lumi (Luminita) Laura. I'm the author of the novel Carpathian Vampire and a couple of associated short stories, all in the series Tales of the Carpathian Vampire. I was born somewhere in Romania, probably Victoria but possibly Fagaras. I have no record of birth, and my parents never seemed concerned about it. I attended public schools until I was to enter high school, but when I didn't pass the entrance test, they were going to ship me off to a craft school for a couple of years, so I bolted. That was four years ago when I was fifteen. For a long time I was on the run, then stayed with a gypsy woman. Being a fugitive is nothing new to my family. My father killed a man, and we were on the run for two years before they caught up with him. Now he's in Codlea Prison for life. My mother has moved since I was last with her and now lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. I moved there myself and live with my boyfriend. I've been reading and writing English since I was five. The Roma family picked up a laptop computer for me. I didn't ask where they got it, and they didn't say. That was a few of years ago, and I've not put it down since.
