      Thank you for purchasing Rescued by a Vampire. The story of Val and Tia is a lighthearted but sexy paranormal. How can it not be when the hero is a day walking vampire who teaches surfing?

      As a news flash to Tia, she comes from a line of vampire slayers. Sure enough, these two have an interesting relationship, and a murderer and some meddling parents and the fun begins.

      This book was originally released several years back as A Valentine In July. It has gone through some major edits and changes. I hope you enjoy.

      Chapter 1

      Oh! God, yes! She moaned in ecstasy. Her dark silken strands cascaded across the white cotton of her pillowcase. Her hands caressed his back and shot flames of carnal desires to the deepest parts of him.  The gentle movement of her rocking hips pulled him deeper inside.

      Val thrust harder. From the way her pelvis bucked beneath him she was close to release.  He was completely consumed by her; he adored her and wanted her every waking moment.  He loved her to the bottom of his soul. 

      Harder.

      His speed picked up and he drove forcefully into her.  Full breasts rose and fell with his steady movement.  She was glorious. Her pink lips gasped for breath.  He wanted her to call his name but the word never came.

      She whimpered and her fingers caressed his back.  Her tight wetness squeezed around him and her body rippled as she climaxed. Val thrust one final time and filled her with his release.  Her nails raked over his shoulders as she trembled for a second time. Val sunk his teeth into the soft skin at the nape of her neck and groaned.  He pulled his lips from her shoulder and buried his face in her dark hair.  The satin smoothness of her skin teased against his and sweat glistened on both their bodies. 

      I love you, Val whispered in her ear as he struggled to take air into his lungs.  He meant the words with all sincerity.

      Everything changed as she slowly disappeared.  Her soft flesh was no longer beneath him and he floated.  He didn’t want her to leave; he never did.  His body twisted in the sheets as he rolled to his back before he sat upright in his own bed.  He went to yell, but the anguish died in his throat.  Again, she’d only been a dream.

      A raw ache ravaged his soul.  His body shined with moisture from the lovemaking his mind had played out.  Dreaming of her, holding her, and tasting her were always real.  He recalled her voice, the laughter, and pleasure.  Not every dream was sex; sometimes they would sit and talk. Only he still didn’t know her name.

      He shoved his hands through his wet hair and shook his head.  He wasn’t sure if he should laugh or cry.  She wasn’t real, yet a faint trace of her perfume and her scent clung to his skin. 

      How? 

      Val tossed back the covers needing a drink and a shower.

      He was exhausted both physically and mentally.  His muscles protested as if he had just had a vigorous work out. He pulled his body off the large king size bed and walked naked to the shelf that held the bottle of aged crimson liquid. Val removed a goblet next to the decanter and poured the drink into the crystal.  He set the bottle down and stepped to the window.  He focused on the navy sky and wondered if she really existed.  If she did exist, did she feel him in her dreams, the way he felt her.  Logic whispered such ideas were impossible. 

      Lifting the glass to his mouth, he relished the drink against his lips and tongue. A shooting star traveled through the sky.  At that moment he wished for her to be real and their paths to cross.  Tonight he had bitten her, just enough to
