About this ebook

Heat Index: Sweet Romance

After being left at the altar by her fiancé, Jennifer Secret is content to live out her life single and working at Secretly Yours Flower Shop, which she owns with her brother and sister-in-law. She’s never going to trust her heart again when it comes to men. After a typical clumsy move on her part with the meddling deli owner next door, Remy strolls into her store and into her life. She decides to take a chance on love one last time. Thing’s aren’t so easy though when she finds out Remy’s condition is only temporary and her insecurities surface.

Remington Carmichael loves his parents. He doesn't love his mother’s lectures on why he isn’t dating after his divorce. He has no desire to get involved and is tired of hearing the pity in women’s voices when they meet him. Things don’t always go according to plan. Who would have guessed that the woman he has talked to a hundred plus times would trip on his walking stick and land in his arms? What’s a guy to do? Ask her to dinner, of course. Never in a million years did he think she’d say yes or the date would change his life.

    Dear Reader,

Thank you for purchasing my book, I really hope you enjoy the story of Jennifer and Remy. When I started this story I was striving for something different. Never did I think I would have a blind hero or a heroine who fails to see her worth.

Remington Carmichael has had it rough. He married the wrong woman, she couldn’t be faithful; and when he saw the error of his ways, he lost his sight. His recovery is mental over physical. Then Jennifer became more than a voice on the phone; she became someone he could relate to.

Jennifer, she had her groom run off with her best friend. Her friend was a rich, sexy, blonde and in Jennifer’s eyes, everything she wasn’t. Then Remy comes along. He is perfect since he can’t see how flawed she is. Only when she discovers his sight might come back at any time, her bravery fails and she pushes him away. The last thing she wants him to see is her plainness.

No matter our flaws and imperfections, this story is about hope and believing in ourselves, despite how scary that can be when we open ourselves to another.

I hope you enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed writing about how sometimes two completely wrongs make a right.

    ~Best,

    JT

    Chapter One

When are you going to find a nice man and settle down? Mrs. Goldstein peered over her glasses and placed her hands on her round, overly ample hips.  The woman’s tone was sincere as she stared at Jennifer
