About this ebook

When Peter finds himself caught in a speed trap in the same small Wyoming town where he was once a foster child, six weeks of community service feels like an eternity. Until he runs across an old friend who seems more than happy to see him, and the attraction is instantaneous. But can the magic of Christmas and a love he'd never known be enough to make him think about giving up his wandering ways?
Through the years, Kevin found himself wondering about Peter and where he wound up when he was pulled from their community into yet another "home." But when they reconnect again, he discovers that in all his travels, Peter never had a real home. As Kevin's feelings deepen, he knows the one thing he needs to do to keep Peter is show him that true happiness boils down to opening yourself to love. And a little mistletoe doesn't hurt either.

The stench of piss and body odor filled Peter’s nose as he dished another scoop of slop to the next homeless man in line. Being Thanksgiving, the shelter was busier than usual, or so he assumed. He wasn’t the volunteer type. Not because he didn’t give a rat’s ass, but because places like this only reminded him of where he came from. And that was to be avoided. Also because he rarely stayed in one place long.

But when one was caught doing ninety in a forty-five, one must accept the community service a judge dished out. Six weeks community service beat thirty days in jail. Even if it was in a podunk Wyoming town he swore never to come back to. It was drive through, though, or go fifty miles out of the way.

The front door opened, bringing in a meager amount of sunlight and a moderate amount out bitter air with it. Peter wondered about all the folks who didn’t come to the shelter and were out in the sub-zero temperatures. For a long while in his teens, he was one of those people, stuffing newspaper in his clothes to buffer the cold. Hypothermia was a shitty way to go.
