About this ebook
The co-founder of the Stanford d.School introduces the power of design thinking to help you achieve goals you never thought possible.
Achievement can be learned. It’s a muscle, and once you learn how to flex it, you’ll be able to meet life’s challenges and fulfill your goals, Bernard Roth, Academic Director at the Stanford d.school contends.
In The Achievement Habit, Roth applies the remarkable insights that stem from design thinking—previously used to solve large scale projects—to help us realize the power for positive change we all have within us. Roth leads us through a series of discussions, stories, recommendations, and exercises designed to help us create a different experience in our lives. He shares invaluable insights we can use to gain confidence to do what we’ve always wanted and overcome obstacles that hamper us from reaching our potential, including:
- Don’t try—DO;
- Excuses are self-defeating;
- Believe you are a doer and achiever and you’ll become one;
- Build resiliency by reinforcing what you do rather than what you accomplish;
- Learn to ignore distractions that prevent you from achieving your goals;
- Become open to learning from your own experience and from those around you;
- And more.
The brain is complex and is always working with our egos to sabotage our best intentions. But we can be mindful; we can create habits that make our lives better. Thoughtful and powerful The Achievement Habit shows you how.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5"I recently read 'The Achievement Habit' by Bernard Roth and it was a game-changer for me. The book is packed with practical tips and strategies for taking control of your life and achieving your goals. Roth's writing style is engaging and easy to follow, and he uses real-life examples to illustrate his points.
One thing I particularly appreciated about this book is that it doesn't just offer platitudes or generic advice. Roth acknowledges that changing habits and achieving goals can be difficult, and he provides concrete steps for overcoming obstacles and making progress.
Overall, I highly recommend 'The Achievement Habit' to anyone who is looking to take their life to the next level. Whether you're struggling with procrastination, lack of motivation, or just feeling stuck, this book will help you break through your barriers and start making meaningful progress towards your goals." - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book to find motivation in doing things and getting you kick-started.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I was working with Hublot brand in Dubai. One day i was going through a blog i saw a post concerning MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE and I contacted them and when i bumped into their site { https://www.hackfunding.su } while surfing the net at my leisure time at work. I started with $450 payment for $4,000 transfer which is 14,692 AED due to the money is small and i could readily forget about it if it doesn’t work out. I receive my transfer same day and so i started ordering for higher amounts which i can now say i’m presently a VIP member. I have never seen such great service online in my life. God used them to change my life for good and now I am opportune to have a Hublot franchise in Dubai worth millions of USD. Overall It was pleasure to work with World’s Best hacking team, they are very professional and courteous. I will certainly recommend them to few of my friends. { https://www.hackfunding.su }

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book gives you a new perspective on problem solving, which everybody would benefit from. It also introduces a new style of thinking, allowing you step into the shoes of a designer. Several problem solving strategies are detailed, especially strategies to overcome a creative block. The notes and bibliography sections are intensive, and provide a great opportunity for further research. The author writes about personal experiences a little too much and I wish the writing style was a little more complicated, which would make it more engaging to read for me. Overall, it’s a great read.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Estaría bueno si los libros tuvieran la opción de cambiar el idioma.. la mayoría están en ingles.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the quickest I have read a book in years (even with all the note-taking I did!) Extremely useful on professional and personal levels, thought provoking with real, practical exercises to do and fantastic examples to drive home the points. Also I loved the honest writing style, I wish I had had a teacher like Bernard Roth. Instead I now aspire to be a teacher like him!

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Waste of time. Misleading title. It's more about how to act towards people, but not about how to achieve goals specifically. I read to page 185 and skimmed through thereafter, just a disappointment. Should be called "how to interact with people" or equal.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Some good insights some significant naïvety, but mostly a pretty unfocused, disorganized list of what he supposes to be the wisdom of his life.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I wanted to read this book because I read about his work, and this title was mentioned on his Wiki page. It didn't disappoint.
Of course, like any other 'self-help' book this one too came with advises that we've all heard before. But the way he describes situations, how he tells the stories is very amusing.
It made me smile several times.
I read a lot of bad reviews about this book, but I couldn't relate to it, maybe that's because I didn't expect anything of it, I wasn't looking for any help or whatever, I was just curious about the author, and I like his writing and the way he tells stories and explains things. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was an interesting introduction to "design thinking". It is reasonably well-written but not overly innovative, I felt. Some concepts were dubious and I didn't agree (telling yourself that nothing has any intrinsic meaning) but others were helpful and insightful (getting to the root of a problem by continuing to ask what the problem is; making prototypes of solutions).
