Acknowledgments
We have both felt very privileged to have had this opportunity to share our knowledge, passion and commitment to all that travel can provide.
As with any project of this scope, the authors have received inspiration, understanding and support from many others who have in so many ways contributed to the birth of this book.
We are deeply indebted to Sir Richard Branson, the ultimate entrepreneurial achiever for whom the impossible seems to represent just a minor challenge. His astute marketing skills have inspired us.
Of course to our mentors and friends, Andrew and Daryl Grant, we cannot thank you enough for the opportunities that you have offered us and your ongoing faith in our ability to run with them.
We must also offer special acknowledgement to Paul and Mary Blackburn for offering us the toolbox to build the subconscious platform needed for our success.
To Michael Palin, who has inspired us with his uncanny knack of keeping travel alive and enjoyable for others, no matter what the adversities, we must also offer our acknowledgement and thanks.
The social entrepreneurial spirit that shines through Andrew Forrest's business and personal achievements has really been an inspiration to show that Australia's notorious tall poppy syndrome can indeed be overcome.
Walter Weir has always exhibited faith and belief that no mountain is too high – for this support, we both thank you.
To Sonia and Trevor Jones, we'd like to acknowledge and thank you for your ongoing willingness to share knowledge, support and bubbles when required over many years.
To our dear industry friends John and Victoria Lont, how can we thank you enough.
We also wish to thank Narelle Urbanowicz and her team, who have worked so hard on perfecting the design of the book and the supporting website.
And we cannot finish these acknowledgments without remembering the groups of women that Barbara met in Santiago while working for World Vision, who had so little yet were so grateful, and were able to inspire us that anything is possible.
