    Introduction

    You purchased this recipe book because you want to lose weight. Being overweight is a big problem for so many people. You have made the right decision. Dieting is the number one way to lose weight, and dieting builds a foundation for the weight loss and a lifestyle change.

    Why is it so important to maintain your weight? Many health issues can stem from excessive weight, issues that can cause long term and very critical conditions. Being overweight means you have excessive fat on the body. If there is more to your body, it takes more blood volume for your body to function. This means your blood pressure may rise. If you have hypertension, you may be at risk for cardiovascular conditions. By simply losing the weight the blood pressure goes back to normal and the risk for heart problems may go down as well.

    Diabetes is a big risk for obese people, especially for those with a genetic disposition for Type 2. The fat in the body is responsible for the insulin resistance. This can be very dangerous if left untreated. Part of the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes is weight management.

    Being overweight means your body hangs on to those saturated fats, which can show up in blood work as high cholesterol. Cholesterol issues can stem from genetics and most certainly are aggravated by our lifestyle choices. If we are overweight, we run the risk of having high cholesterol. By losing the weight, we may help the cholesterol levels to go back down to normal.

    Obese people are at a greater risk for osteoarthritis. The excessive weight puts too much pressure on the bones and joints. The constant strain causes the cartilage to be worn down and the result is arthritis. Lose the weight and you may find the pain from arthritis subsides.

    Obese people are at risk for sleep apnea, especially those who are morbidly obese. By losing the weight, the risk for this condition may go way down.

    Those are some serious health concerns that are aggravated by excessive fat and weight on the body. If a person have a weight issue and also does other bad habits such as smoking cigarettes or drinking excessive alcohol their risks go even higher. The best remedy for these and other ill health issues that stem from excessive weight is to diet to lose the weight. This requires a complete change in lifestyle.

    If you want to further help in weight loss add some help with the dieting. By exercising, you are enabling your body to shed more fat and weight by burning the calories at a faster pace. Even if you have never exercised before or do not do so regularly, you can start and you may be amazed by the results. It almost seems too simple, but all weight loss plans (short of surgery) boil down to the diet and exercise plan. Sure, you can lose weight with dieting alone, but adding exercise to it is like adding fuel, it helps it to come about faster.

    Before we launch into the importance of exercise, we need to give a little advice. Please seek the advice and counsel of your health care provider before starting any new diet or exercise routine. Bring this book along and show it to them so they can see what you are considering. Get their approval and proceed. All the suggestions in this book are for informational purposes.

    All the recipes are ones that fall within the guidelines for the particular diets, the gluten free diet, and the quinoa diet. Many people receive great results from these two diets, but results may vary according to the size of the person. It will also vary according to how well they stick with the dieting and exercise plan.

    Exercising helps to lose weight because an active body burns more calories. The more calories you can burn the more weight you can lose. The good news these two diets will help to boost your metabolism so you will feel like getting up and moving around. The more you diet and exercise the easier it will become, but it is vital to start slow especially if you are not used to exercising.

    Start the exercise routine with some easy walking or low impact aerobics. You can even turn on some music and dance around the room. The point is to put the body in motion, to move. Start by doing this three times a week, or every other day. Spend at least a half an hour exercising. Once your body is accustomed to the routine you can safely add to the frequency and intensity. Always start the exercise with a warm up. Do a few slow stretches to prepare the muscles. End the exercise with a cool down, doing a few stretches. If you fail to warm up and cool down you run the risk of pulled muscles.

    After you work up to exercising three days a week, add an extra day, or add another half an hour. Take the advancements slowly to give your body time to build up to the workouts. The point is to get at least thirty minutes of physical activity at a time.

    The Gluten Free Diet plan and the Quinoa Diet plan are both highly nutritious plans. You can interchange and combine the
