    Gretchen Géser is the author and illustrator of One Bright Ring. She drives a hybrid car and creates hybrid artwork, alternating between traditional and digital techniques. A graduate of Smith College, Gretchen also has an M.F.A. in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College. She lives in upstate New York with her husband and daughter and is on the lookout for a black cat.

      Very original counting book with a story that will make your hearts melt!
      A man loses a ring and a brave girl catches it. She follows the oblivious man across town, accompanied by her mother. In her quest, the reader asks him/herself: "Will the girl finally reach the man?" She does.
      The ending is as sweet as a cupcake.

      Poetic text (love the positioning and the font used) and fantastic illustrations. I find the black cat following the girl very funny. In the end, we are that black cat. *winks*

      Educational story for brave girls.

      Little girl retrieves dropped ring and must overcome many entertaining obstacles to return it to the owner. Clever, fun counting story.

      Little girl sees engagement ring fall through hole in pocket, and pulls her mommy along to get the ring back just in time.
