About this ebook

Twenty-eight days, thirteen European countries, a tour manager fighting attraction, and an accused murderer. What could possibly go wrong?

European tour manger Stella Cruz has adeptly led eager tourists around Europe for far too long. Nearly thirty, she is ready to abandon a constantly changing clientele and the never-ending stream of willing bed partners. Enter Phoebe Lancaster, tall, blond, and dangerous. Arrested for the murder of her socialite girlfriend, but later released, Phoebe’s presence on the tour is an unnerving mystery and a reckless temptation for Stella.

Author

Michelle Grubb

Michelle is Tasmanian born and now resides in the UK, just north of London. She relishes outdoor and travel adventures with her wife, writes by the seat of her pants, and often lives life by the same philosophy. She believes that life is about opportunities: You choose to take them or you don’t. Someone far more famous than her once said, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always get what you’ve always got.” Motivated by this, Michelle likes to explore opportunities that come her way. The urge to write seemingly stalked Michelle until she finally succumbed in her mid-thirties. Surprise was her initial reaction, but now the author title inspires her on a daily basis. Getting Lost is her debut novel. Go on, seize the opportunity and get lost! You never know what you might find.

That was quite a few countries to travel through in this novel. And it was quite a journey. It's the story of Stella, the tour guide of a tour of twenty eight days through a good portion of Europe. And Phoebe, the once accused of the murder of her girlfriend, woman who's on the tour and catches Stella's eye. It's partially a typical lesbian romance, but it's also quite a thriller. From the outset there is doubt sown in the reader's mind over if Phoebe did it or not. There's also the question of, is someone following/having it out for Phoebe and if there is someone, why. Not to mention the question of, why is Phoebe on the tour in the first place.I'm still not sure if I liked the character of Phoebe. At the beginning I couldn't stand the character and by the end the character seemed a little better, but only marginally. On the other hand I really, really liked most of the other characters. Russo, the driver was hilarious. And many of the people who were on the tour were quite the characters too, so much so that I wanted to know more of their back stories. And then there was Stella. She was an awesome character that jumped off the page. The only part that I really didn't like was the end, it seemed so abrupt compared to the twisty, turny, winding of the rest of the book.Still, overall it was an interesting story and definitely a good read.I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.
