About this ebook

Living with an English Bull Terrier (EBT) can be very entertaining; disruptive, sometimes chaotic, and never dull. At the same time this is not a breed that is well suited to all people or home environments. One of the goals in writing about the amusing side of life with an EBT was to help readers think about how best to identify a breed that would suit them as well as the dogs in this book - which also include a Collie and a Labrador Retriever - suit their person.

While Gracie tried to be very helpful in the writing of this memoir and handbook - barking at the writer and stepping on the keyboard when productive writing had been happening for too long a time - she has also been a constant reminder of how important it is for dogs and people to find the right matches in the world. The handbook sections include tips on how to find a breed appropriate to the reader's home and expectations; information on traveling with, feeding, and training a dog; temperament testing suggestions; and advice on where and where not to obtain a canine companion. This information is based on 30 years experience working with and rehabilitating dogs. What makes this read most enjoyable though is that it will resonate with dog lovers, reaffirming how much human quality of life is improved when shared with dogs
