About this ebook

When the paths of an old cowboy and two young trespassers---one black and one white---cross, many lives are changed forever. Beauregard Lee Kelso grew up in a time of racial division and rampant prejudice. Now, at an age that is way past retirement, he struggles with decisions of his past that won't allow him peace of mind. Kevin and Leonard are looking for some good fishing in one of the pasture watering holes when they cross onto Kelso's land. This book is the winner of a 2012 Readers' Favorite Honorable mention and a Gold (first place) Award in the 2013 Indie Next Generation Award for First Novel.

After his wife's death, Beauregard (Bo) Kelso is forced to face past misdeeds that resulted from bigoted thinking about best friends, Kevin [white] and Leonard [black]. Bo spots the boys headed for a fishing hole on his Texas ranch as he is out riding his beloved horse, "Whiskey By The Drink". The teenagers enter his life just as they are leaning towards the edge of manhood. Faced with bullying and violence from racial discord themselves, will they be able to help themselves let alone help Bo right the wrongs that anonymous gifts to the needy and church won't? Author Kenneth L. Capps’ carefully crafted tale and well rounded characters are sure to invoke an emotional response from the reader.Three dimensional characters, together with poignant tale, will make the reader think about society and individual responsibility.
