I liked this book but it was a little inconsistent just as educating Elizabeth was.....what I loved about this book was that Elizabeth and gervase were featured in it rather prominently but I felt the actions were not always consistent...or rather, the inconsistencies in choices e.g. wanting A one moment and B the next etc were not properly fleshed out. also, certain things were just outright contradictory e.g. Owen is mentioned as being uncomfortable around Oliver, and late in the story is referred to worshipping Oliver and admiring him

while there were fewer frustrating character behaviour inconsistencies for this book than educating Elizabeth, it still had a couple loopholes overall

as always, Kate Pearce is a maestro at knitting her character's emotions together and actually, I was rather impressed with the way she managed to keep the convoluted plot afloat and keep the reader guessing with just the right amount of curiosity

I'm looking forward to awakening amelia
