About this ebook
A very strange being rides in a bus, bound for the bayous of South Louisiana. The being has an appointment there.
The being doesn't raise the dead, what it does is to deal with the ghosts of the dead and also with undead creatures. When the being finishes with them, they're neither ghosts nor undead.
The being leaves the bus and then walks along a trail that winds in among tall trees, it walks in shadow most of the time.
After a bit, the being becomes aware that it's being tracked by something or someone.
The being suddenly arrives at a large, old, Victorian style house. The being has been assigned the task of remaining in the haunted house through Halloween night.
A female vampire who stalked the being, follows the being into the gloom inside the old mansion.
The female vampire proves to be the least deadly of the creatures that the being must deal with during a very busy Halloween night.
The being has his wits and what appears to be a sword, to deal with the creatures that will menace him, through the night. The sword is named Glyr and it's not actually a sword, but a living being, a demon fiercer than any that the being will face during the night.
All that the being needs to do is to survive, through the night, until dawn. However, dawn is quite a ways away.

I'm the co-author, with Sunset Thomas, of Anatomy of An Adult Film.I have 48 novels and over 299 short stories currently published.I spent my early years in the part of Los Angeles known as the South Central. I was known as Whi' Boy, which was sufficient to identify me in that place. I'm a skilled Kung Fu player, using a system that I learned from a Korean I knew only as 'Pak.' It would be easier to tell you the places that Pak wasn't wanted by the police, rather than the places where he was wanted by the police. Pak's Kung Fu system, augmented by some bits and pieces from some Chinese practitioners is quick and effective, or I wouldn't be alive today. My early education was mostly obtained by stealing books from the public library (I always returned them and the Librarian even began to provide me with reading lists.) I did go to high schools, but I never really learned anything there. I eventually graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, UCLA, with a degree in mathematics.I work as a Systems Analyst and also make a part of my living as a professional gambler (legal in Nevada.) I write science fiction and erotica. My published novels are:Anatomy of An Adult Film (With Sunset Thomas)1. Second Chance: God Killer2. Second Chance: Sky Pirate3. Second Chance: Scroll Seeker4. Anti-Necromancer: Smedly Mansion
By R. Richard © 2014
I'm on a bus, bound for the bayous of South Louisiana. I have an appointment there. The reason for my appointment is that I'm what you might call an anti-necromancer.
A necromancer is one who raises the dead, communicates with them.
I don't raise the dead, what I do is to deal with the ghosts of the dead and also with the undead. When I finish with them, they're neither ghosts nor undead.
If I'm to deal with ghosts and/or the undead, I have to go where and when they are.
Where I can find ghosts and/or the undead is the decaying Smedly Mansion, down in South Louisiana.
When I can find ghosts and/or the undead in the decaying Smedly Mansion is Halloween night.
I appear to be a slightly tall man of study build. I have very white skin and black hair. I'm sort of nondescript, trending maybe a tiny bit toward handsome.
I wear brown denim clothing and high boots. The rugged denim and the brown color let me sort of fade into rural backgrounds.
I carry a backpack, filled with cash, a few changes of clothing, food, cooking utensils, a shaving kit and Glyr.
Glyr appears to be a largish knife or a very short sword, in a scabbard. However, Glyr is actually a demon. Glyr and I are exiles.
In order to return home, Glyr and I must do certain things for those who exiled us. One of the things that we have to do is to visit the Smedly Mansion this Halloween night.
The bus runs through a forest landscape. There are
