About this ebook

Dillon Vancil loves two things. The first is being a bartender on the Vegas strip and the second is his sexy boyfriend, Liron. Fortunately, he doesn’t have to choose between the two because he works in Liron’s gay nightclub, Dionysus.

Liron has been alive for three hundred years, ever since he was turned into a vampire. Although he’s had lovers through the centuries, no one has touched his heart until Dillon. But sharing that he’s undead might be too much for a human to believe, so Liron hides his true identity.

But when Dillon is taken in revenge by one of Liron’s oldest enemies, it is time he tells his lover the truth...before it’s too late.

    DEDICATION

So many thanks to my editor Laurie and to Evernight for their continued support.

Folklore is a marvelous tool for writers. I wrote this story based on an excerpt from A Voyage Into the Levant by Joseph Pitton de Tournefort (1718) that details his experience of the exhumation and the slaying of a suspected vrykolakas on the island of Mykonos in 1701. Vampires have many different origins, and I’m excited to share this one.

    Chapter One

    Dillon! Dillllooon!

Dillon winced as Oliver sang his name out in a high-pitched wobble. He paused long enough from pouring beer to glance over at his friend and then burst out laughing. Oliver wore a purple flounced shirt whose neckline plunged down to his navel, showing off a newly shaved chest, and hot pink pants that outlined every bulge.

Oliver jutted out his hip, put his hand on it, and then pirouetted around. Aren’t I simply fabulous?

That wasn’t the adjective I was thinking, Dillon said in between chuckles. Someone held up an empty beer bottle and Dillon hurried to grab a new one. He collected the money as he sat down the beer and then rang up the sale.

Are you going to be able to come out with me later? Oliver asked as he pushed his way up to the bar. He pouted so prettily that Dillon rolled his eyes.

    I’m working all night.

Can’t you pretty please beg your boyfriend to let you go?

And who’ll help Mario here? Dillon nodded to his co-worker behind the bar who was busy filling the waitresses orders that came in over the computer screen.

His brother Luigi, if you can find him.

Dillon shook his head and filled a few more orders as Oliver continued to badger him. He and Oliver had been friends
