    AUTHOR'S DISCLAIMER: As someone who has watched with dismay as many efforts to stop or at least slow the gun violence in this country have failed to gain enough traction to get somewhere, the following short stories and brief essay represent my opinion on this matter, but only my opinion.  I am not claiming any of these as factually accurate or at al objective, but they do represent my opinion on this matter.

    THE RIGHT TO BARE BRAINS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

    The mood was contentious and extremely tense as the vote began.  At first, cool-headed Democrats were hopeful.  Surely, just requiring people purchasing a gun at a Gun Show to go through the same background checks as a gun store purchaser is something everyone could agree to.  The only people that would adversely effect are criminals and the mentally unstable, whom everyone agrees should not have guns.
