- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5All the animals are getting aboard the dream train. Aboard the dream train all of their dreams come true. There's ice cream piled high and toys everywhere. It encourages sleep and is a sweet bedtime story. The story is written in a very rhythmic way. Warm, rich illustrations. Would recommend for very young children Pre-K-K.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is another good rhyming night time book by Rinker. At the end of the night the steam train pulls into the station and different animals fill the cars with different items. This book uses onomatopoeias which is really fun and the illustrations were really beautiful. I would definitely read this to children ages 1-5.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a weirdly specific book: a going-to-bed book with all the cars of the train named, and animals loading them. The text was fine, but the art was really special.
Library copy - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book tells a tale of a train staffed with animals and filled with toys. The animals work hard to get the train ready to depart, and eventually go to sleep themselves. As they pack the train in the illustrations, Rinker's text teaches children vocabulary of the various types of train cars. I liked the friendly animals and the combination of a sweet bedtime story and the type of train/truck/machine related content that many young readers love.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I can see this being a great story to read before bedtime. Not only is it great for bedtime because of the context, but the story line is sweet and rhyming, and brings in a creative plot with animals and trains.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not as great as goodnight goodnight construction site, but the kids enjoy this one a lot though.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This has been a favorite of my son's and I. Lyrical and imaginative script, beautiful illustrations.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was funny and mysterious. We enjoyed how the animals had fun doing their work and learning about trains.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Nice and charming
A good chill rhyming book that works really well for bedtime. The art is beautiful and the vocabulary is great for a 4 year old. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I thought I had read this before, but maybe not. It's a great rhyming book about trains, it’s cars and tucking everything away for the night. It was lovely and lots of fun.
