- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Colorful book tells lots about bugs:). Great conversation starter about bugs. Also a vocabulary builder about creepy crawlies. Really like the chart at the end that talks about the characteristics, similarities, and differences about the critters.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Summary:This story is about different bugs and things that they do. It’s a simple book that goes through a list of common bugs and informs children about their purpose, so to speak.Personal Reaction:I liked this book because it was simple enough to elaborate on and be able to ask open-ended questions and to get creative with. It is a skeleton book, or the bones to a great imaginative story!Classroom Extension Ideas:1. I could have the class look for bugs outside and we could use a net and bug catcher to put some in. We could then look up the bugs we caught and learn all about them. We would soon release the bugs to safety without hurting them!2. I could purchase an ant farm for the children to look at and we could talk about the purpose of ants. We could also talk about each child’s favorite bug..

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5My almost-two-year-old loves this one. Brightly colored pictures of friendly bugs with just a few words on each page make it a good ready for toddlers. He also likes the page with the toes in the garden and always points them out.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! is a short and educational book about typical bugs that could be found in anyone's backyard. It describes insects in a way that children can comprehend and relate to. At the end it gives a small chart to characterize different insects by flight, number of legs, stingers, and where it lives. I love this book for story time! The pictures are so bright and loud, they jump out at you. Also, children are usually fascinated by bugs, this book gives them a little simple scientific to the creepy crawlies they love. After a little thinking, I rested on the idea of using construction paper, markers, and scissors to make our own bugs in class! Letting the children pick one of the insects discussed in the book and telling them to create me one.
