About this ebook
Marley Cartman wants a guy with a tiny one — bank account, that is.
No more rich men for Marley Cartman. Absolutely not. Thanks to her dad, her ex-fiancé, and the overbearing donors she schmoozes for a living, she's had more than her fill. From now on, she wants blue-collar men with dirt under their fingernails. But when Marley makes a break to handle donor relations for a wildlife sanctuary, she finds herself drawn to the annoyingly charming—and disturbingly wealthy—chairman of the board.
Judging by his hipster T-shirts, motley assortment of canine companions, and penchant for shaking up stuffy board meetings, you'd never guess that William Barclay the Fifth is a brilliantly successful businessman. Will has good reason to be leery of scheming women, and as he and Marley butt heads over the wisdom of bringing grumpy badgers to charity events, he can't help but wonder if his new donor relations coordinator is hiding something other than a perfect figure beneath that designer suit…

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5An entertaining read about Marley Cartman, who comes to a small town to work in donor relations for a wildlife refuge and historical society. As chairman of the board, Will Barclay was off limits but sparks fly and love has its way. Both have a keen sense of humour and never miss an opportunity to come up with plenty of jokes with sexual innuendo. The well crafted plot began to drag in the middle of the book but wrapped up nicely at the end. Review based on ARC received from NetGalley.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5My Booklist review:Sexual innuendo and risqué bantering abound in Fenske’s latest, after Eat, Play, Lust (2013). Moving from Portland to Bend, Oregon, to become development director of the Cascade Historical Society and Wildlife Sanctuary, Marley Cartman, at 35, has decided not to date men who are wealthy because like her father, now on his sixth wife, they are undependable. Society director Will Barclay V, divorced after his wife ran off with his sister, has well-earned trust issues with women to whom he is attracted. Still, sparks fly between Marley and Will, even as she dates a series of blue-collar guys and he tells himself she is not being completely honest with him. But when Will’s aunt’s prized collection of antique Native American dildos is stolen from the historical society and Marley becomes one of the suspects, even their fragile bond is stretched nearly to its limit. Fenske, whose previous books are rooted in humor and silly situations, also stretches the limits of humor with sometimes labored setups and quips that border on potty humor, which might disappoint her fans.— Pat Henshaw
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked this one, it was funny and the innuendos thrown around were very amusing.
We have Marley, who wants to marry blue-collar men. She is sick of the rich stupid ones. Marley, Marley, there are stupid rich men and stupid poor men. Anyway her dating adventures are rather hilarious.
Will tries to keep things lively at the organization on which board he sits. And he is Marley's boss then in a way too. And a grumpy old lady said no fooling around with employees. Will was always joking around but he had a vulnerable side too as he had a hard time with trust after his marriage broke apart.
They meet before they know who they really are. And the rest of the book they try to be friends but fail miserable cos passion can't be denied, but oh they try.
Fun and cute.
