    Gone And Alone

    It seemed to him the house was full of people. Some were necessary, others were worthless for this morning when he needed to be alone mourning his loved one. Nothing was the same on this sad day. Time moved a slow dance over his nerves as he watched all the hustle and bustle in the home they shared.

    This wonderful home, he shared with Andrew for the last two years where they built their life together without outside interference. Their life may not have been open for everyone else but it was their own and they shared many happy times together.

    His best friend was there keeping everyone away from him. She fended off visitors as they hovered over him with words of solicitude and caring. All of which he wanted no part of this glorious sunny morning. His sadness and mourning were his own and nothing in the house seemed his own this moment since everyone crawled all over it.

    As his pain expanded in his chest obstructing his breathing, he moved with speed down the back steps to the back yard where their pet pig resided. It was his idea to get the pig. He wanted Snuffles two years before and they went out and bought the miniature. Graham leaned over the porker stroking his ears, neck and belly talking to him of his loss.

    We will miss him, he whispered to Snuffles. What will I do without him? You know he is the one who chose you from amongst all the others in the litter. He loved the first moment he set eyes on you.

    He rubbed the belly of the large beast smiling as tears rolled down his face wetting the hard bristles on the animal's neck. He leaned over and hugged him in a
