      I was something of a guardian of the peace on many worlds. My influence and my fight to end the evil schemes of RIP have probably affected thousands, although I’ll probably never know the truth of it. That is the fate of a world traveler.

      "Do you have everything that you need? RIP asked. As much as I will need to stop that fool," Hate replied. RIP smiled. His friend would be in for quite a welcome!

      REST.IN.PEACE

      RIP sat on the small barrel in the alley.

      You have what you need?

      Hate growled and opened his mouth to spit venom onto the dirt.

      I have as much as I need for now.

      He turned and his cloak revealed his sandstone colored scaled armor and whips.

      He will not delay you this time, my master.

      RIP smiled. His plan would go well.

      THE BURN ZONE

      Zek flew towards the ground head first. He was traveling quite fast this time and it worried him that the world he saw beneath him was coming up much too quickly.

      He flipped in midair and summoned his strength. He was a master at this spell by now.

      He picked a greenish spot of grass on the ground below him and spoke the word.

      Stop.

      The grass flattened to the ground and Zek slammed feet first into it. Another smaller humanoid landed next to him. The grass bent like rubber and they bounced back up.

      You could have made it less springy, Raphael grumbled as he came back down head first.

      Zek smiled to himself secretly. Raphael always said that.

      Zek put his hands out as he came down in a flip and landed on his palms before springing backwards off the ground to land sitting cross legged.

      Raphael went up again and gave Zek a look that told him this was not funny. Zek chuckled. Watching the dwarf rolling around like this was one of his secret joys.

      Raphael pulled out his axe and spun twice in the air to come down in a massive chop that sent air out to the sides. He broke the spell with a clean cut to the earth.

      Zek nodded. It was a daring move. That spell could backfire when broken in the nastiest of ways.

      Raphael stood up and walked past Zek.

      Don't we have work to do?

      Zek got up. His smile disappeared. Where would the demons be this time he wondered.

      TRADER TOWN

      It turned out that this world had dwarves as well. Raphael was always happy to see his race somewhere other than the world he and the race of elves Zek belonged to inhabited. It made him feel at home.

      Zek and Raphael made their way to one of the local taverns. It was a rustic affair with broken windows and a drunk lying in the gutter outside.

      They entered and immediately noted
