- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book! Would love to purchase to it in order to have on hand. Tried to locate other venues to purchase it for my library, so if anyone knows please let me know how I can actually purchase. Again! Great content! Hope you enjoy reading it as I have, it will truly bless you. Outstanding and very informative, may just read it again but next time take some good notes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5There are excellent books out there on Kabbalah or Astrology but very few that bring significance and meaning to both at once. Etz Haim provides a format that can be easily understood by a beginner to Jewish mysticism but touches upon more advanced topics within it much better and more authentically than would be found by a writer of Hermetic Qabalah. This is a book about the traditional Jewish tradition and astrology within the contexts of the Sefer Yetzirah and other Jewish mystical texts.

Chapter 1: From the Author
Even if this book may seem very basic, it is not intended to give basic knowledge of Kabbalah.
Au contraire, it is aimed to help readers in approaching the concepts of Kabbalah, and its terms.
This book is not aimed at the study.
It is a book for curious beginners who wish to approach the mysteries of Kabbalah and get a smattering of Kabbalah’s main Symbols in relation to Astrology.
In the last chapter, I have tried to give you some simple instructions to transform theory into practice.
Finally, for the very curious readers, Appendix 1 of this book contains the complete text in English of Sepher Yetzirah (Gra version¹).
Chapter 2: Introduction
The Secrets of Your Birthday
The Kabbalistic interpretation of the Horoscope for the 12 signs of the Zodiac is based on the teachings of Sepher Yetzirah, the Book of Formation.
Each sign, as many things in Kabbalah, expresses itself in 3 levels of realization of its potentials, from low to high. These 3 levels are described in Sepher Yetzirah as World, Year and Soul. We can call them Space, Time and Consciousness.
In their lives, human beings may move through these 3 levels, but only a few will be able to reach the complete realization of their endowments.
A Kabbalistic Horoscope is the analysis of one’s personality in relation to the Adam Qadmon².
Adam Qadmon is the Archetype used for the Creation of the Man. It is the union of Female and Male.
This short book aims to briefly introduce the main concepts of Kabbalah, and give a simple explanation of the 12 Signs of the Zodiac according to the teachings of Kabbalistic Astrology.
Chapter 3: Etz Haim
The Tree of Life
Etz Haim (the Tree of Life) is a system of 32 clefs. In other words, 32 different tones of our personality: the 10 Sephiroth and the 22 Paths (the 22 letters of Alef Beit).
Kabbalah uses Etz Haim as a model for the Creation of the Universe and, on a lower level, as the key to understand your personality.
The next figure shows the archetypal³ Etz Haim as handed down by tradition.
The 10 Sephiroth are shown as circles⁴ connected by 22 straight lines (the 22 Paths).
For each Sephira⁵ the figure shows the original name in Hebrew, its transliteration, the corresponding Planet and the expression used by Kabbalah to name them. For example: Keter is named the Crown, and corresponds to the Sun.
The Sephiroth
Each one of the 10 Sephiroth⁶ is a potential quality of your Soul that will become power once you balance and transform it.
Each one of the 10 Sephiroth is equivalent to one of the 10 main planets:
Keter (Crown) is the Sun
Hokhma (Wisdom) is Mercury
Bina (Intelligence) is Venus
Hesed (Love) is the Moon
Ghevura (Strength) is Mars
Tiferet (Beauty) is Jupiter
