      Introduction

      As counsellors, we The Abbotts, have been asked many times by attractive single men and women Why am I single?

      Like us all, they want a rewarding and fulfilling relationship with a loving partner, whether of the opposite sex or their own. They may have experienced love and been in relationships in the past and want to find another satisfying partnership or they may never have experienced true love and want to find their soul mate.

      Nevertheless despite trying to meet compatible potential partners, over a number of months or years, they find themselves still single and romantically alone. This is why they often ask us for the spiritual meaning behind their single state. Has it a purpose and meaning? Or is it purely random and meaningless?

      They also ask us how they can meet the love of their life and remain in a loving, compatible relationship with that person?

      We have both been spiritual channellers for many years and have a good contact with angels, spirit guides and Higher Masters who are willing to share their compassionate and honest views on this important subject. We shall use excerpts from the hundred of recorded-channelled messages that we have received from them, over the last twenty years on this topic.

      Tony and I have both spent many years, in a similar single state before meeting each other and eventually marrying and with our own life experience, we hope that we can help you fully realise the spiritual implications and reasons behind Why am I single?

      Chapter One

      How You got Here!

      Have you ever wondered just who you really are and how you came to be born on Earth, in this particular time frame?

      Most of us query our existence at various times in our lives. If you are conventionally religious, you may believe that you have only one life, die eventually, be judged on your earthy actions and live for eternity amongst the angels, playing a golden harp. If you are unconventional, you may have explored many religions and philosophies and concocted a working philosophy for your life.

      We both believe in reincarnation. Why? Because in deep meditations we have both vividly remembered past lives, in many different countries, worlds and time frames! Astonishing but true! You don’t have to believe in reincarnation to follow the exercises and philosophy of this book, but we do hope that you will be guided to at least, accept the idea as viable. After all billions of people currently living on Earth, do accept it as possible and real!

      Now you may ask at times, who am I? Am I just blood and bones, brain and organs? Or is there more to me than this? Let us explore this intriguing idea in more detail.

      I am sure that many of you, have often felt, that you are somehow different to others around you. You’ve felt more special, more sensitive and more knowing. At times, things you thought about have come to fruition or manifested, in totally unexpected ways. You’ve had strange, vivid dreams, which are prophetic or deeply significant in your life. Coincidences in your life happen regularly, with strange results.

      Hopefully, you are open to the thought of life continuing after death and that there may be intelligent life in outer space. You feel that you’re more than just an average person with limited intelligence and a physical body. Well you are! You are a vaster, more magical being, than others ever imagine! You are multidimensional, powerful and angelic! You’ve just forgotten who you truly are!

      It’s just, that you have become so conditioned by society, to think of yourself as a commonplace, cog in the wheel of suburbia, that you’ve fully accepted this definition of yourself and subsequently, forgotten your angelic powers and your reason for coming to Earth! But you can learn to remember!

      Many people believe that they have a soul or spirit, somewhere deep inside them, part of their personality make up, just as they have a body and brain. This soul stirs occasionally, when you hear beautiful music, listen to inspiring words, see a newborn baby smile or fall in love. But otherwise, it is fairly redundant. They see the soul as a rather uncomfortable hidden organ that burdens them with being good!

      Nothing could be further from the truth! You are the Soul. You are the spirit. Because you’ve chosen to experience life in the physical form of a human being, you’ve entered into this covering of flesh and bones, but that it all it is - a covering.

      When you go out and buy a new pair of pyjamas, you don’t become the pyjamas. You remain a person wearing the pyjamas. When you incarnate into a new baby’s body at birth, you live your life within the growing human body to help you fulfil certain tasks, but you
