About this ebook
Vidas Mykolas' parents came to America as World War II refugees from Lithuania. The poems in Vilkas are about prostitutes in St. Petersburg Russia, the Armenian Holocaust and stickball, reviving dead brothers, Caligula eating pearls, mythical wolves in Baltic forests, dumpster diving, White Nights, ravaged family cemeteries, Mexican bands in Oregon, a pig roast, defiling St. Paul, and other poems.

I was born in the Chicago area long ago. My parents were World War II war refugess from Lithuania. I have been writing poetry for a long time. Got published in some poetry mags, but now with the advent of ebooks and sites like Smashwords, has allowed me (and others) to publish entire volumes of poetry.I work full time as a technical writer. Each morning the women of Gargzdai
take busses into birch forests to pick
mushrooms, and with luck,
amber charms. I watch them return
as the town exudes dust and mist
below ochre clouds. Their heavy buckets
squeak and tock, squeak and tock while
