I have been meditating for several years but my wife has never really tried to due to her "hectic lifestyle". I purchased this ebook for her a few weeks ago and encouraged her to read it in one sitting. Now she can't go a day without practicing her meditation. We have also begun to practice together which has truly enriched our 8 year relationship. She has a lot less stress from her work as an attorney and actually finds time to disconnect from the cyber world. I am thrilled to have found this ebook and want to thank the author Luba for keeping it straight forward. Highly recommend it to beginners. - Jake Pratchow/ Martial Arts Instructor and Dojo Owner, San Francisco, California

Consciousness

Meditation does to your mind what gym does to your body. It makes it stronger and more flexible. Michael Morrison, NCAA Outdoor decathlon champion.

Welcome to the Happy Stage of Your Life

From the time we are children, we are interested in knowing ourselves. We seek that knowledge in as many outside sources as we can. We ask our parents about the story of our birth, we try on different futures to see which one might fit. As we grow older, we seek out books on philosophy, spiritualism, religion. We watch movies, attend seminars on self-realization and self-development, talk to wise and foolish teachers. But while our knowledge deepens, the elusive hope that we may become happy and at peace once we know enough about ourselves remains elusive. This is in part because true happiness and true peace come from within, and must be practiced by the body, rather than learned by the mind.

A consistent meditation practice grows in you the ability to break free from deep emotional and psychological problems and concerns that may have tormented you for years. It is those knots tied inside your body and mind that bring about feelings of sadness, grief and hopeless sense of futility. These are the issues that turn you away from connecting with the world and people around you and prevent the joy that comes from being present in your life.

A meditation practice can be a natural part of your life. It can become habitual, like brushing your teeth or taking a shower. The daily practice does not take much longer than either of those chores. Best of all: you do not need a manual, pricey equipment, a complicated seminar or a guru to tell you
