      Anemia is the most common blood condition in the United States, affecting over 3.5 million people, but many people still do not understand it. This condition is classified as a chronic disease and it can be genetically transmitted in different forms.

      For many, having anemia means experiencing fatigue and shortness of breath on a near daily basis. For some, it means increased risk for cardiac problems, even heart failure.

      There are many different forms of anemia and each case varies in severity. The causes of anemia may vary as well and, thus, the treatment. Anemia can be a difficult condition to understand and even more difficult to deal with.

      This book serves as a complete guide to anemia for individuals suffering from the disease as well as for those supporting someone with the condition. Here you will find all the information about anemia, including symptoms, causes, treatments and types.

      Chapter One: What is Anemia?

      Anemia is a health condition in which the blood has a lower number of blood cells than normal. This condition can occur for several reasons – in some cases, it is a result of low hemoglobin levels (the iron-rich protein that is responsible for the red color of blood).

      Hemoglobin is essential for helping red blood cells carry oxygen to the lungs and throughout the body. Without adequate hemoglobin, your body may not get enough oxygen-rich blood. Long-lasting anemia can be very damaging to your health. It may even be fatal.

      The name anemia is derived from the Ancient Greek for lack of blood. Anemia is also spelled anaemia and anæmia, though anemia is the most common spelling. This condition can be caused by a number of underlying conditions and it is the most common disorder of the blood, affecting over 3.5 million people in the United States alone.

      In order to understand this disease in detail, you must first learn the basics. In addition to knowing what anemia is, you should also understand the causes, symptoms and treatments of anemia. It is also useful to know the different types of anemia and how they are diagnosed and treated. Anemia is a very serious disease and it can be tricky to understand.       There are several different types of anemia, each of which has its own specific causes and factors. When it comes to anemia in general, however, there are three overarching causes to consider:
