    Police Captain Tony Marciano is currently serving on the police department in the Township of Shandaken, NY. Although he is fulfilled in his work as a police officer, he is also mourning the tragic death of his wife, Gloria, who was recently killed by a drunk driver. These days, more than ever, Tony is dedicating his life and his career to serving the community and getting other drunk drivers off the road. Tony’s not only one of the department’s finest officers, he’s also an experienced EMT, SWAT team member, and a canine handler. He shares his life and home with his best friend, the retired canine officer Sarge, a German shepherd who once-served on the police department in the Township of Shandaken.
    Over the course of two weeks, Tony uses every law enforcement skill he has as the emergency calls roll in. He joins a SWAT team’s efforts to take down the man who murdered his wife when he and his officers discover a secret meth lab in the woods outside of town. When a 911 call reports a domestic disturbance, Tony finds himself in the middle of a desperate situation. With his medical skills, he saves a woman’s life after a family member assaults her.
    But it isn’t all work—when Tony isn’t on duty, he’s riding his Harley-Davidson Fat Boy or is helping to train the newest members of Shandaken’s Canine Unit—Raven and Big Red. He also discovers there’s more than friendship on the mind of his lifelong friend, Lauren, whom he’s known since childhood. At first reluctant to enter into a new romance, Tony finds himself falling hard for the woman he’s always thought of as “just a friend.”

    E. J. Morelli grew up in Phoenicia, one of the hamlets in the Town of Shandaken, NY. He joined the U. S. Army in 1987; and after leaving the Army, pursued a career in law enforcement. He currently serves as an officer in a rural South Carolina department. He works as a canine handler, and an Emergency Medical Technician. He additionally serves as a SWAT Team Medic.
