Timothy House

Ohio native Timothy House first began writing poetry as a teenager. As many poets, he began writing poetry to his girlfriend. He quickly found other topics to write about as well with a dream of someday writing a book. That dream became a reality in 2007 when he published Definitions. The book was his way of defining the world around him. The book contained poetry from nearly 20 years of writings. After the book was published Tim grew more comfortable with his writing and began to expand to writing fiction composing music and sound effects to his poetry. In collaboration with Wilderside Studio's in Nashville, TN, Tim released his first album of poetry with these effects and music. It became an instant hit. The Album was released in November of 2009 and at that time Tim was well on his way to completing his next book as he toured all over the United States performing his poetry in cities such as Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, New York City, Baltimore, Boston and many more. In 2010 Tim began writing his first novella Love Notes which was part of a larger project Apollo's Flame which featured poetry, short stories, and that novella. Tim performed one of his signature pieces In The City by The Mighty River while in Memphis. While there he wrote one of his most loved stories Old Man and the Moon. A story of an man who is dying and passes his great wisdom on to others. The story was published in August 2010 and was Tim's first fictional piece published. It was also part of Apollo's Flame which was published in November 2010. Love Notes was published first as just the novella in ebook form shortly afterward. Bookstores requested Tim publish a book with Love Notes and the short stories that were in Apollo's Flame on its own without the poetry so came the first edition of Love Notes. As the new year of 2011 came so came a flurry of new stories. Tim began working a new short story for Poe Fest which was a celebration of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday. The story mirrored the writing of Poe with circumstances of his death wrapped up into a modern day eerie tale of aliens and dementia from being poisoned. Several other stories followed which would become part of the next version of Love Notes published in April of 2011. It had the same stories as the first version with several more stories. The 2nd version has several stories not available in Apollo's Flame. Shortly after the new Love Notes was released Tim completed his latest novella From My Hear to Yours, an enduring love story of adventure and strength through trying times. Their love and great virtue inspires many around them to do good works. This book also features five short stories in addition, three of which were released at the same time as $.99 ebooks. A soldier's story, Tears of a Green Eyed Angel, and Visitor's from Yubarri. As his new books were released Tim is already working on his next novella Pieces of the Puzzle. In addition to a writer Tim is also a musician, song writer, and composer. He performs and composes music in several genre including, rock, country, jazz, blues, and classical. He is currently working on several songs and classical pieces set for release in the coming future.Tim has great passion in writing and while he has received many awards and is nominated for more Tim states, "I don't write for awards nor for glory. I don't write to be a member of a group but rather to touch the human soul. To entertain, to inspire. When you touch someones day, when they grow from your words then this is a far greater award. I believe that art is as necessary as a breath of air for our lives, our souls, and physical well being." Tim's voice for humanity shines brightly through his stories. He is an extremely eclectic writer who has pieces in several genre such as romance, drama, sci-fi, and horror.Tim enjoys hiking and photography and often writes in places on the trail that inspire him.

Visitors from Yubarri II - Timothy House

Visitors From Yubarri II (The return to Earth)

    A story by Timothy House

    Chapter 1

Forty years after arriving in Yubarri

Goyo watched the Yubarrian sunset from his room. The crystal formations of all the building structures made it an incredible light show. He had lived a good life here and had many friends. Yubarri was an amazing place but as he was now growing older and in his twilight years he began to dream of his home world.

Across the planet on the continent Gevness where fellow Earthling Robert Midgim lived he was also thinking of returning home. He lived in a very different culture and with the race of Egyptians on Yubarri. They were the primary engineers of the planet. Being an engineer himself Robert was at home there. Robert lived in a small crystal pyramid. In Gevness it was twelve hours ahead of the continent of Yubernia where prominently Moai lived. It was also where Goyo lived.

As the night sky appeared in Yubernia Goyo went outside and as he did he received a communication that his dear friend and Moai Mishac, who brought him to Yubarri, was gravely ill and was not expected to live through the night. Robert received the same communication and immediately beamed to the visitor’s room in Mishac’s residence. People of all races were gathered for the news. Goyo and Robert were taken in to see Mishac. It was the first time the three had been together in several years. The last time they were all together it was when Mishac had retired from the council.

Mishac spoke in a soft voice, Come in my dear Earthling friends.

Goyo said, It is good to see you if only under different circumstances.

Yes, yes twilight is now upon me. It is the way of living things to move on so that others, young ones, can have their life and find their place in the world. It is the same here as on Earth my friends. Of all things I cherished our times together. I cherished bringing you here, watching you two grow as beings, Mishac said.

As do we cherish you dear friend, Goyo said.

Robert said, We shall miss you.

The three talked for a while longer and then Robert and Goyo left. Mishac died later in the night.

He was honored by millions of Yubarrians at his Memorial the next day. It was custom to cremate Moai and spread their ashes in a nebula just out of the Yubarrian solar system. Robert and Goyo came along on the ship that spread the ashes. As the ashes were spread the gases interacting with them turned a bright red glowing almost as bright as the Sun.

Robert turned to Goyo and said, Where has the time gone? It seems that yesterday we just arrived here.

Indeed, even with their technology even the Yubarrians can’t stop death, or the passing of time. It stalks us all, Goyo said.

    How true, Robert said.

Have you ever thought of going back to Earth? We aren’t exactly young ourselves anymore, Goyo said.

Sometimes, then I realize how great this planet is. How great life is on Yubarri. There is respect here, peace here and so much beauty everywhere. They have space travel here. They live through their differences here and I doubt that’s changed on Earth. Some days I miss it some days I thank God we left. Robert said.

I have thought so myself. In fact much has changed, for the worst I fear, Goyo said.

How would we be greeted? How would the Moai, the Mayans, or the Egyptians? It’s not like we can just land. They have colonies on the Moon and Mars now. They are capable of detecting us, not like when we left. It’s been fifty-five years now and another fifteen years to get back. I’m just not sure we would be welcome, Robert said.

Indeed, but what if we brought our knowledge and the technology of Yubarri? Maybe it could bring peace to our planet. It would eliminate the class system… allow everyone to be independent and free like here, Goyo said.

Robert sighed and said, I have had the same thoughts. Our race is so different. Yubarrians are independent but still believe in their fellow man and everything is done with everyone else in mind. That isn’t the way of our planet… they just seem to find a way to do evil in everything they do.

Not true of everyone my friend… and there are Yubarrians who are evil too, Goyo said.

True but it’s different on Earth, Robert said.

Yes but they don’t have the technology we have. With androids doing manual labor and with no monetary system it would eliminate all of those things, or at least I hope so. There is so much authoritarianism and with the Yubarrian’s technology the people could become more independent, Goyo said.

Possibly, I just don’t know. I wish we could just return but with the encoder chips that would be impossible. They would know right away. Besides those authoritarians you spoke of just aren’t going to give up control in favor of allowing the whole planet to have the same rights as they do. They don’t want the lower class to have any freedom. In their mind the lower class is only alive to serve them, Robert said.

We’ll never know unless we try. Maybe we could discuss it with the council, Goyo said.

Always the dreamer you are Goyo, Robert said laughingly.

Goyo laughed too and said, Yes, but is that not what brought us here to this paradise?

Indeed, my friend, indeed it did. I remember both of us running like schoolboys to the library on Easter Island. I would love for these old eyes to see that place again… and the chance to bring the Yubarrian way of life to Earth is tempting, Robert replied.

And I thought I was the dreamer, Goyo replied laughing.

They had similar conversations in the past about returning but there was concern during WWIII, which had begun shortly after Goyo and Robert arrived on Yubarri. It was thought the armies would attack the Yubarrians. As strong as the shields were they could repel one nuclear missile but not multiple ones. Now, however, the war was over and an attack like that was unlikely. The entire planet was aristocratic authoritarian society now. People who were called ‘undesirables’ were sent to Mars colony. Unless you had a family crest you were not an elite and therefore had limited rights and freedoms. It was a much different planet than the one Goyo and Robert had left. They had often heard the reports of the planet and been saddened by what had happened to their home planet while they felt blessed to be living on peaceful Yubarri. Now in their eighties they began to yearn for just one more visit to their homelands. They had longed to bring the freedom and peacefulness they had on Yubarri back home.

As the funeral ceremony finished they returned to the planet. Both Robert and Goyo returned to their homes but wished to continue their discussion later.

Earth was a vastly different place. Goyo and Robert had been gone for fifty-five years. In that time a great war had occurred and a new ruling class was in place. America was gone now. North America and Europe were all one country and ruled by the aristocrats who appointed a king and council. Any who spoke out about the council or who did not do their work properly were sent to a prison on the moon or Mars if they weren’t killed. Often those who an elite simple didn’t like were sent to the moon. Everyone on Earth, Moon, or Mars had a chip inserted into his or her bodies. This chip could track their every movement and they could be killed instantly as a shock could be sent to their heart causing instant heart failure. The lower class operated the factories and the elites were served by the lower class. The elites did not work except for a few. The lower class didn’t have many freedoms. They had their occupations chosen for them in school. Those considered more intelligent or talented were chosen for higher-level occupations like teachers, nurses, and doctors. Elites were schooled in different institutions where they were taught the
