About this ebook

Peter, the marketing fish monger who grow up to help lead a dynamic growth in Christianity, shows us all what is necessary to begin such a growth mission. Our churches do not actively visit neighborhoods and meet needs while showing love and concern. Come with me and see exactly what Peter teaches us about visitation and how this is a distinct command to all whether the call is accepted or not. Let's tqake a walk through Peter's instruction to the masses shortly after the resurrection and study the individual elements: Faith, Virtue, Knowledge, Temperance, Patience, Godliness, Brotherly Kindness, and Love. Let's then look at the new testament models for action: the Fruit of the Spirit, Missionary, and Jesus' charter to all believers.

    INTRODUCTION

I recently put up a storage shed in my back yard and the directions were so clear and specific, I finished the assembly in record time—only to find a lot of unused parts. I had skipped one whole page of directions; so, I had a choice to make. I could either tear down what I had assembled since the skipped page or I could leave the doors off the shed. There was really no choice—by my not following the order of directions, I had to go back to the start and begin again.

Many of us have done similar things, but perhaps the worst disservice we can do to God, fellow man, and ourselves is not following God’s clear, concise plans for our lives. Everything we see, do, say, or hear is a direct result of God’s plan or our own independent plan.

Visitation is much the same; if we are not properly prepared, God’s open doors will be closed by our selfish desires. What about you? Do you follow God’s directions from His Word or do you try to interpret His meaning for yourself? Let’s look at God’s clear directions for visitation.
