    CHOCOLATE CURL - by Jenny

I, yes, I alone will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again. Isaiah 43:25

Doesn’t a chocolate curl on top of a dessert sound scrumptious? In this case, however, it is not chocolatey goodness but the newest paint color in my master bedroom. Maybe instead of eating the chocolate curls, I knew putting it on my walls was a healthier choice.

It was a lovely spring morning as I exercised my right bicep painting the large wall behind my bed with long even strokes. I was feeling really good about standing on the manly man 8’ ladder to get the high spots. At one point I realized I forgot my damp paint rag (for wiping my hands) on the floor. As I descended the manly man ladder to retrieve the rag, I hit it with my elbow. And, yes, you guessed it! The LARGE can of unsweetened chocolate curl paint fell off the ladder and landed on the floor. Chocolate curl paint adorned my bangs like thick mousse, but even worse a blob of paint landed on my cream colored carpet. I shrieked and even began to cry as I blotted the paint up from the floor.

Then, through my tears, God spoke to my heart and said, This is what I do for you. I blot away your mistakes, your poor choices, and your sin, and I wash you clean. This was unbelievable. God used a common ordinary paint spill to remind me that with Him, I am forgiven. I am wiped clean and can rest in His sweet presence every day.

Girl Up Challenge - Confess your sin today and let God blot it out for you. He bears the stains we have and forgets them. Why don’t you?

FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME - by Jody

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV

Have you ever wondered why certain athletes do what they do? Why would a man weighing 260 lbs endure another man who weighs 280 lbs running full speed directly at him with full intent of crashing into him and removing his head from his shoulders? Most athletes will tell you, FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!

Do you realize that being a Christian is compared to being an athlete in the Bible? I love what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:8, "We are troubled on every side... (the 280 lb football players are coming in for the tackle)...yet not distressed. We are perplexed, but not in despair (not
