    Giuliano Hazan is the son of famed Italian cookbook writer Marcella Hazan. He runs a cooking school in Verona, Italy, with his wife and won the International Association of Culinary Professionals award for Cooking Teacher of the Year in 2007. He is a contributor to Cooking Light magazine and author of The Classic Pasta Cookbook, Every Night Italian, and How to Cook Italian.

      Many of the recipes in this book are widely available elsewhere and so I think that the book would not be good value for an experienced cook. I did, however, think it would be an excellent choice as a gift for a student or young professional living on a tight budget. Despite the heavy use of cream, which is expensive, and, of course, truffles, most of the other recipes are delicious and economical.I received a review copy of "Giuliano Hazan's Thirty Minute Pasta: 100 Quick and Easy Recipes" by Giuliano Hazan (Stewart, Tabori & Chang) through NetGalley.com.

      Need dinner in a hurry? This book can help you to prepare a pasta dish in a short time. It includes recipes for all types of pasta sauces: vegetarian, meat, or fish. It uses ingredients are ones that are easy to find in the average kitchen. Put the water in the pot and turn on the burner. While waiting for it to boil and the pasta to be done, gather and cook a few simple ingredients and ta dah! Pasta! This would make a good gift for a wedding shower; just add a pasta pot and a bow!
