The Divine Conspiracy Bible Study Participant's Guide - Dallas Willard
A WORD FROM DALLAS WILLARD
Discipleship to Jesus is the very heart of the gospel. The really good news for humanity is that Jesus is now taking students in the master class of life. The eternal life that begins with confidence in Jesus is a life in his present kingdom, now on earth and available to all. So the message of and about him is specifically a gospel for our life now, not just for dying. It is about living now as his apprentice in kingdom living, not just as a consumer of his merits. Our future, however far we look, is a natural extension of the faith by which we live now and the life in which we now participate. Eternity is now in flight and we with it, like it or not.
It is my hope, in these six sessions, to provide an understanding of the gospel that will open the way for the people of Christ actually to do — do once again, for they have done it in the past — what their acknowledged Maestro said to do. Perhaps the day will come when the Great Commission
of Matthew 28:18 – 20 would be fully and routinely implemented as the objective, the mission statement,
of the Christian churches, one by one and collectively.
Individual Christians still hear Jesus say, Whoever hears these words of mine and does them is like those intelligent people who build their houses upon rock,
standing firm against every pressure of life (Matthew 7:24 – 25, my paraphrase). How life-giving it would be if their understanding of the gospel allowed them simply to reply, I will do them! I will find out how. I will devote my life to it! This is the best life strategy I ever heard of!
and then go off to their fellowship and its teachers, and into their daily life, to learn how to live in his kingdom as Jesus indicated was best.

SESSION 1
THE DIVINE CONSPIRACY
God is at work doing something very big in this world … but it often goes unnoticed. We get glimpses of this Divine Conspiracy
and hear the whisper of Jesus inviting us to enter in. The choice is up to us.
INTRODUCTION
The divine conspiracy is breaking into human history. It comes not with an eardrum-splitting crash, but as a gentle whisper. The message is simple, but absolutely life changing. God’s kingdom is not just coming … it is here, in our midst. If we listen closely and follow the invitation to be part of this work of God in the world, our lives will never be the same.
