About this ebook
A meteorite is hurtling toward the Black Hills of South Dakota. . . .
Brady Steele's love for all things extreme is given a boost when a fireball crashes through the roof of his house. It turns out that Brady's space rock is one of the rarest meteorites ever found. In fact, a professor from a nearby museum wants to study it in search of extraterrestrial bacteria, hoping to discover the first proof of life beyond Earth.
During a wild week of extreme bicycling, fishing, and caving, Brady discovers he's able to do strange and wonderful feats that shouldn't be possible. At the same time, he's developing some frightening symptoms. Could he be infected with long-dormant microbes from space? Is his meteorite a prize . . . or a menace?

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Brady Steele lives in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and loves to go camping and for extreme mountain bike rides with his cousin, Quinn. One night during summer vacation, Brady climbs out onto his roof to watch the Perseid meteor shower, as his house is far out of town and there are no lights to clutter his view of the stars. The sky suddenly turns a bright blue, and a fireball comes crashing right through his roof -- and right through the bed where normally he would have been sleeping! Fred, as Brady and Quinn name the potato-size space rock, turns out to be one of the rarest kinds of meteorites. Professor Ripley from the museum in Hill City takes a sliver of it to study, in hopes of finding evidence of extraterrestrial life, even if it's only bacteria. Brady, his neighbor's vicious dog Attila, and the professor all experience some unusual abilities and effects from Fred -- but is this good or bad? 6th grade and up.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Brady Steele is home alone the night a meteorite comes crashing through his roof and goes through his bed. He can’t wait to tell his cousin all about it. The name the meteorite Fred, short for Far Roaming Earth Diver. What Brady and his cousin Quinn didn’t realize is that this meteorite is the rarest kind. They also didn’t realize that it would work wonders in Brady’s life for a day and then start working against him. The question is can Brady convince his cousin that he isn’t losing his mind? If he can will his cousin be able to save him? A lot of the book was based on scientific fact. This made me wonder if scientist have found life on Mars and aren’t telling us because of what they have learned? Could what they know be used for evil if in the wrong hands? Don’t understand what I am talking about? Read the book. It was a good one and a quick read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Metorite hits Brady's home and causes him to have super strength. His cousin visits and finds Brady much stronger than last summer. They run into trouble with the neighbors, and find themselves in a big adventure.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Brady narrowly escapes death when a meteorite crashes through the roof and goes through his bed. Shortly thereafter, Brady and Attila (the neighbor’s very large dog) gain strengths and abilities beyond the norm! One would think that this is great. . .but it doesn’t last long. Brady and Attila find themselves paralyzed to the point that people think they’re dead. Will they be able to let anyone know they’re alive? Can they do it before it’s too late? This is an enjoyable and quick read. I would especially recommend it to boys ages 9-14. The adventures that Brady finds himself in are fun to read about, and I think that young boys could easily relate.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Brady and his cousin Quinn have always enjoyed extreme sports. Growing up in the Badlands gave them plenty of places to compete with each other. ONe summer night a meteor crashes through Brady's roof and through his bed. Brady sleeps with the meteorite to keep safe, while sleeping he drools on it. He awakens to being a super etreme sportsman. He can run faster,. ride harder, jump higher! Is it the meteorite? Soon, something strange is happening to Brady...will he survive his encounter with this "extreme" rock from outer space?
