About this ebook
Once upon a time there was a story. It was a lovely story with absolutely NO BEARS in it-not a SINGLE BEAR anywhere.
Then one day...MORE BEARS!
KENN NESBITT is possibly the funniest and most sought-after children's poet writing today. When he's not writing, podcasting, updating his website (poetry4kids.com), or visiting schools sharing his wacky brand of humor with kids across America, Kenn can be found cuddling his collection of stuffed bears. He seriously cannot get enough of bears. Or chickens.
TROY CUMMINGS has been drawing goofy animals pretty much nonstop since kindergarten. His illustrations have appeared in newspapers, in magazines, on websites, on frozen fish stick packages, and in hospital waiting rooms. He hibernates in Greencastle, Indiana, with his wife and cubs.
Kenn Nesbitt
Kenn Nesbitt is the author of 8 children's books and is the current Children's Poet Laureate. He lives in Spokane, Washington.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very enjoyable to read with my Grandson, Malachi, reading the "More Bears!" interjections! ? ?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This would be great for a first or second grade story time I think. An author is asked to add more bears to his bear free story. I think the kids will enjoy interrupting and shouting the more bears refrain and I also thought it was pretty funny and loved all the different bears that were added.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Humorous book about an author who insists that this book is not about bears, or is it...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Funny, interactive read-aloud about an author and his desire to have no bears in his story. But the listeners outside the book keep yelling for "More Bears!" kids love the colorful, zany illustrations, as "they" take over the story. Good for use in discussing the author's role and editing one's story
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An author is writing a book that begins as most classic fairy tales do, "Once upon a time..." but then the author is rudely interrupted by the audience. This contemporary picturebook lends itself to an interactive read with students.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An author is quite busy writing a book when, out of nowhere, his audience petitions him, “More Bears!” He reluctantly complies, adding more and more bears to assuage his audience. Soon the page is filled with bears and the author must ask all the bears to leave. This book, like many contemporary picture books, has an interactive quality that adds to the appeal of the book. Delightful and fun.“The author tried very, very hard to ignore the children who thought that the story ought to have…MORE BEARS!Fine. This story had a bear. It was a cute little baby bear strolling through the book looking for…MORE BEARS!”
