She wrote the first drafts of both books during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which takes place every year in November. Sparrow Migrations, her debut novel, has been adapted into a five-part miniseries script. Cari earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee. In 1997, she landed in Traverse City, Michigan, for a summer job. For four years, she covered the region’s evolving agriculture economy as a reporter for the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
