- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This is an ideal book for number crunching nerds or for falling asleep to. It is little more Mr Bogel's bluster about cost cutting derivatives indexing. It drones on like an endless chronology of this man's life recounted in statistical data that make the average person's eyes glaze over in 5 minute, but it runs for more than 10 hrs. I couldnt finisg, but still want to know why is Vanguard pratically a monopoly? Lots of investors and he was the first to index, but other companies are using software in slightly different ways. Bogel must have had inside deals. He was just a millionaire, but he had 80 million.I dont believe it. Worse I couldnt get past the first 3 hrs of listening without drifting off. Not written for the layman.
