About this audiobook

The next heart-pounding thriller from New York Times best-selling author Riley Sager follows a young woman whose new job apartment sitting in one of New York’s oldest and most glamorous buildings may cost more than it pays.

No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents, all of whom are rich or famous or both. These are the only rules for Jules Larsen’s new job as an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile and mysterious buildings.

Recently heartbroken and just plain broke, Jules is taken in by the splendor of her surroundings and accepts the terms, ready to leave her past life behind. As she gets to know the residents and staff of the Bartholomew, Jules finds herself drawn to fellow apartment sitter Ingrid, who comfortingly reminds her of the sister she lost eight years ago. When Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems and the dark history hidden beneath its gleaming facade is starting to frighten her, Jules brushes it off as a harmless ghost story...until the next day, when Ingrid disappears.

Searching for the truth about Ingrid’s disappearance, Jules digs deeper into the Bartholomew's sordid past and into the secrets kept within its walls. What she discovers pits Jules against the clock as she races to unmask a killer, expose the building’s hidden past, and escape the Bartholomew before her temporary status becomes permanent.

Took me a little while to get used to MC, but once I did, I would say around 25% in I was hooked and had to know how it all ended. Lots of twists and they all worked. Good read.

Riley Sager has written another thrilling tale full of lies and twists to keep his readers turning page after page!
Jules has just landed a dream job of being paid a thousand dollars a week to live in a lavish unused apartment in the ritzy Bartholomew.
This new job comes with some pretty strict and strange rules. "No Visitors" "No bothering the residents" and "No Nights Away From The Bartholomew"
Jules soon finds that the rules aren't the only strange things in the Bartholomew.
The strangest thing? Her new friend, another apartment sitter named Ingrid, has disappeared.
Too bad no one else seems concerned that Ingrid is missing.
In a search for her friend, Jules uncovers some terrible secrets from the Bartholomew's past. The deeper she digs, the more she realizes she may be in danger.

This book, like Mr. Sager's other books, is told from the perspective of the main character and alternates between the past and the present. Each chapter reveals more information while keeping the reader guessing.

One thing I loved about this book, and really all of Mr. Sager's books, is the character development. Jules is a full-fledged character with hopes and dreams and flaws.

Mr. Sager skillfully describes the surroundings and the emotions seen and felt by the characters. The flow of the novel is so well done.

The only thing keeping me from giving this book 5 stars is the fact that I was able to decipher pretty early on who the main antagonist was.
I've seen other reviews where they were kept in suspense on "who dun it"
So there is a possibility that I was just lucky in my guess.
Overall I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves a great thriller!
That's just what this book is, a great thriller!

Yo this was a great book! Its not ground breaking but it was chilling and I wasn't sure how it was gonna go. I was actually surprised by the ending I expected it to be more grim. However what I will say is that I recommend this one for Halloween or murder mystery lovers.

Lock Every Door is my first BOTM purchase, a thriller with so many twists and turns. It starts in the middle (great!) and then takes us back to the beginning, with more and more plot twists with each chapter. At one point I was a little disappointed in what I thought was the answer, to then be victim of yet another, so much more interesting plot twist, with many great aha moments. If you think it is a typical mystery, don’t, may be surprised.

This was my first book by Sager and I loved it! So suspenseful and kept me wondering until the very end!

Wow! That definitely took an unexpected turn in the last 25% or so, that actually shocked me. He really did set things up, all the clues were there, but that was a bizarre twist. I enjoyed the narration of the audio book version and Sager has improved in his writing since 'Final Girls.' This story has a more sympathetic protagonist and is eerie and chilling in the sense that it's bizarre, but not completely far-fetched. I'm not going to say anything else, because I don't want to spoil anything. Highly recommended for fans of the author's past works and just fans of well plotted thrillers, with fresh twists. I'm excited to see where Sager's novels go in the future. Thank you to the publisher for giving me an e-ARC for review through NetGalley. All opinions are my own!
