What if your roommate is your soul mate? A joyful, quirky romantic comedy, Beth O'Leary's The Flatshare is a feel-good audiobook about finding love in the most unexpected of ways.

Tiffy and Leon share an apartment. Tiffy and Leon have never met.

After a bad breakup, Tiffy Moore needs a place to live. Fast. And cheap. But the apartments in her budget have her wondering if astonishingly colored mold on the walls counts as art.

Desperation makes her open minded, so she answers an ad for a flatshare. Leon, a night shift worker, will take the apartment during the day, and Tiffy can have it nights and weekends. He’ll only ever be there when she’s at the office. In fact, they’ll never even have to meet.

Tiffy and Leon start writing each other notes – first about what day is garbage day, and politely establishing what leftovers are up for grabs, and the evergreen question of whether the toilet seat should stay up or down. Even though they are opposites, they soon become friends. And then maybe more.

But falling in love with your roommate is probably a terrible idea…especially if you've never met.

Praise for The Flatshare:

"With likable main characters, spot-on dialogue, a fun premise, and plenty of drama, there's a lot to like in this sweet story. A warm, enchanting love story perfect for fans of classic rom-coms." — Kirkus Reviews

The Flatshare is a huge, heartwarming triumph.” Josie Silver, #1 New York Times bestselling author of One Day in December

Amazing book! Though it did get me a long while to get used to the male narrator, he made some uncomfortable mouth noises. I really loved the interview with the author at the end. Amazing relatable characters and healthy relationship without insta love. Highly recommend! Carrie’s great as Tiffy too.

It was going good… the guy that reads the book reads very well but I can hear the saliva while he reads and that got on my nerves I couldn’t finish the book because of that ?‍?

I loved the book, but OMG the mouth noises made by the male narrator drove me insane. It was like he had peanut butter stuck in his mouth or cheeks full of cotton. Be warned.

Cute premise about Leon and Tiffy sharing a flat without actually seeing each other. I liked all the post-its left for each other and would have loved more of those. I felt without the interaction of Justin and Richie, it would have been a very boring story, but those two sidelines added to the story. However, I could also see that if those weren't focused on, then we may have got more characterful from Tiffy and Leon. Overall, I liked the story and the unusual way the two met.

I started off reading this book and was quite frankly bored because I wasn’t connecting with the characters and felt it was a typical RomCom plot I had figured out from the beginning.
However because it was a buddy read and had so many good reviews I decided continue the book on audio. Thank you Scribd.

WOW! What a difference! The narrators were superb and the characters came alive. The audio also eliminated the weird formatting of Leon’s chapters.

The humor was hit or miss for me, but the depth of the story and the issues it covered that went deeper than an flat-mate to lovers story made it an overall cute, engaging book. Rounded up to 3.5 stars!!!

A lovely story that was perfect for taking my mind off other things. I appreciate authors who can bring both heart and humor to life in their stories. I doubt it's part of her plan, but if Ms. O'Leary wrote a follow-up I'd definitely love to read it.

Love the narrators, the story is pretty good, funny and I really feel sorry for Tiffy with her ex. And Leon is having a hard moment so he needs the money! This looks like the perfect roomie, tbh I found funny the way they get to meet through post-its. The meeting scene is hilarious, I loved that part!

This story was just so clever. Who would ever imagine two people sharing an apartment and even a bed but have never met? The concept seemed novel to me and the cast of characters were just so likeable! It was the kind of book you don’t want to end.

An awesome, somehow believable love story. I truly enjoyed it from beginning to end and was saddened to say goodbye to Leon and Tiffany. Searching for more books related to their story. The background to Mo and Gertrude. What happened with the brother? Rachel? Even the mother and the man in the apartment upstairs! MORE please ??

Romance or women's fiction? Don't care because it is really good and important. Especially for women. There's abuse here but not physical. It's emotional and psychological but it doesn't mean it's less. Important for people to read this to understand that it is not easy to get out of an abusive relationship and that even if you're out, doesn't mean it is out of your system. Abusers start with little, unnoticeable things that control and manipulate their partners. It is so good and heart warming.
