      ** Contains spoilers ** I’ve been reduced to a blubbering mess of happy tears, oh my gosh! I can’t deal.

      Okay, okay! I’ll squeal now to get it out of my system.

      First of all I’d like to say how absolutely amazing JF and K.C are. I am the kind of Irish person who cringes when an Irish person comes on the tele, or an actor who isn’t Irish at all because usually the accents are overplayed and ridiculously false, unless it’s the lush Northern Irish accent of course. BUT, when JF and K.C were reading, ugh, my wee green heart was so bloody happy. They done an amazing job.

      It also made me so happy reading wee things like Mars bars, and runners. When it was in Katie's head the Irish in her came out so strongly, in lingo, language and in general attitude. The only thing out of place throughout the entire book was the word gooseflesh, I think peeps say that in the UK, here we say goosebumps. That’s literally the only dang thing, in the entire book! Ah, okay I’ll stop, I’m just so happy to see an Irish lass represented so well. Tessa really done her homework.

      Jack, oh my gosh, my heart broke. I love that we finally figure him out, and that he found his inner strength thanks to Katie. She also found hers thanks to him.

      These books may have steamy sex scenes, laugh out loud moments, and heart warming romance but what they also have, most importantly for me, is depth. Jack’s struggle for example, Katie snapped him awake yes, but the fight he faces physically and mentally to stay that way is all on him. Seeing him come to that conclusion, and finding a way forward, his thoughts on it all give me strength. Being an addict is a lifelong daily struggle, one that I’m personally not ashamed of anymore, reading a character with that same struggle, being inside that same headspace, it’s a reminder that I’m not alone. None of us are. And that truly hit home for me.

      Tessa sure does have a knack at pulling on heartstrings, but she’s also a master at making me burst out laughing, and squealing hysterically. That end scene with Jack when Katie got back from shopping, I nearly died.

      I can’t wait to listen to the next one, I’m dying to know how this lot get past all the tension and end up together.

      If you haven’t checked out this series yet, do it! The audios are particularly masterful.

      3.75 Stars for me!

      This story started out as a potential DNF through the 15% mark but I kept reading as TB's stories are typically good to great.

      I think that the continuous and repetitive inner dialog along with the H's initial attitude was wearing me out. Keep on reading though as it covers some sensitive content for a vulnerable teenage boy and what many silently go through.

      Indecent Exposure is the second book in The Academy series and I just love this series!! This book can be read as a standalone but I love the fact that I had read the first book in this series, Disorderly Conduct, because it gave me much enjoyment to see how Charlie and Ever’s relationship has grown while reading this story. There is also the matter of Charlie’s older brother’s secret desire for Danika that continues to burn throughout this story as well. I love all that, but that is not what Indecent Exposure is all about. This is the story of Jack Garrett finding the peace that he deserves.Jack Garrett was not the kind of guy anyone would peg for a future police officer. He was a womanizer who was more often drunk then he was sober. The only reason that he was usually even upright was due to his best friends Charlie and Danika. As far as being an officer, that is due to a lost bet with his best friend Danika, not because he was desperate to uphold the law. Despite seeming like a failure there was more to Jack than even Jack was aware of. He was used to women wanting him for sex and not looking for anything underneath the veneer that was Jack Garrett, but he also felt that sex was all that he was good for. Until Katie.Everything changed for Jack when he happened to run into Katie McCoy. Katie did not fall for his usual charms and she seemed to realize that there was more to Jack. This intensity into his character excited him immensely and maybe scared him a little too. Jack had his skeletons and they were not issues that he has ever dealt with but for Katie he really wanted to because otherwise his issues could ruin thigs for them. Katie was only going to be in town for two weeks and she was looking forward to living out her dreams to the fullest, dreams that she hoped would include Jack. She was inexperienced in the way of men but she knew she did not want to miss out on anything that Jack had to offer.I loved this couple, I loved them so much! Katie may have been inexperienced in relationships but she was very much in control of her dreams and desires. I loved how sweet she was and how she saw through to the heart of Jack. I’ll be honest I didn’t see through to the heart of his character in the previous novel but as Jack’s past was explained, I really felt for his character and was glad that he had someone who was there to push him to do better and be better. Although, if he would have just listened to his best friend but….yeah, lol. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Jack’s character experience acceptance and love from Katie who truly only wanted him to be whole.Indecent Exposure was definitely the kind of love story that tugged at my heart strings! It was a story filled with lots of sexy times, dirty talking, and sweet romantic moments. It also deals with a difficult subject and there are darker moments in this romance but it is a humorous read, too. It kept my interest as I followed the story of these two characters who were both new to love with all its highs and lows. I am absolutely going to get my hands on the next book in this series because it deals with grumpy lieutenant Greer Burns, finally! I can’t wait to get to know his character and see if he can mend things with Danika after being such a jerk in this book. Overall, Indecent Exposure is a swoon worthy addition to this series and I highly recommend it!This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Edelweiss+.       Based upon the cover and the title you would never guess that this is an incredibly sweet and lovely romance. I mean there is sex, a pretty fair amount, but honestly not as much as you would think. If you hate instalove this won't work for you. Jack is a fuckboy and a cadet training to join the NYPD. Katie is an Irish Olympian in riflery, too focused on her training to ever date or have even casual sexual relationships. Kattie was brought over in a cultural exchange for two weeks to train the new recruits and the moment Jack first sees her his fuckboy days are over. But despite the instalove there are huge hurdles Jack and Katie need to jump to get to happily ever after. Jack's sluttiness has a sad backstory filled with trauma he needs to work through. Katie's father wants her to keep training and do another Olympics. Those matters represent a fraction of the impediments before our lovers. I will keep the rest of the hurdles to myself, but for what its worth one involves US Immigration rules, and those are no laughing matter. USCIS does not play! The journey is funny and sad and angsty and romantic.I have read a fair amount of Tessa Bailey, and though I nearly always enjoy her books, I generally find the writing is not very good and that the men are a hair too caveman for my particular preferences. Well that streak has ended! Surprisingly, since this is one of the earliest Bailey books I have read, I thought the writing was really rather good. (I mean this is not Jonathan Franzen or Percival Everett, but it is good.) Jack had a little caveman about him, but not too much. Goldilocks has found her Tessa Bailey porridge and it was just right.

      Here's the thing...I liked the characters (Jack, Katie, and all their friends), I was into the story (boy from the wrong side of the tracks meets girl from across the pond, both damaged in unseen ways, but struggling to be better versions of themselves while striving to conquer the obstacles that stand in their way), but the language and graphic scenes had me scrunching my face in distaste. What can I say? I prefer the sparks and steam as opposed to full on BAM!

      Here's the other thing though...by book's end, I still would have waded through those things I wasn't fond of JUST to find out how it all came together because again, the STORY IS GOOD! I love how the gorgeous Jack had a past that was less than wonderful (okay, not like liked, because really, so sad...but he had imperfections and not everything was handed to him which made the god-like-man more human). Seeing him open up and grow as a person was tremendous. I enjoyed seeing Katie find her way through tragedy while following the signs to her potential future (~tear~). She brings out the best in him, making him want to be more than a pretty face, and doing things for other, while he brings out the woman in her, letting her find herself in more than just her career. Their kisses alone could set the night on fire, so just imagine what the rest would do...*ahem*

      Though there were many things I enjoyed about Charlie and Ever's story ( Disorderly Conduct ) probably my favorite parts were the secondary characters/heroes and heroines of future books. Ms. Bailey tortured us with glimpses of Danika/Greer's future story--and the torture continues here as well, OMG--and though I knew I would probably like Jack's--now that I've read it, like is just too tepid a description.I freaking loved Jack's story.Ms. Bailey did a fantastic job of really showing us Jack and Katie--we feel their chemistry (explosive, all the time), suffer along with their inner turmoil (crushing, at times), and agonize over the very real reasons that they can't/shouldn't be together (which they ultimately make realistic strives toward resolving). And all the while she kept me wildly alternating between laughing out loud, tearing up in sympathy, and feeling the need to fan myself. There are so many highlighted passages in my copy, I can't even tell you--I'm probably going to go read them over again when I'm done with this just so I can giggle/swoon/blink back tears one more time before rejoining the real world again.(And geesh, I thought I was anxious for Greer and Danika's story before--that's pretty much increased a billionfold now.
