About this audiobook

Alastair has found the perfect partner in husband, Steven. Together they've built a successful life, had a beautiful child, and still behave like newlyweds long since the day he carried her over the threshold.

But all of that changes in an instant thanks to a thoughtless deed that has lifelong repercussions.

With secrets bubbling to the surface, the pair find their American dream life suddenly in jeopardy, and neither one of them are willing to let go at any cost.

Marin Montgomery

Marin Montgomery grew up in the Midwest but traded cornfields for the desert, and she now calls Arizona home. Originally slated to go to fashion school on the West Coast, Montgomery has always been passionate about writing short stories and poems. After finishing her MBA, she decided to write her first novel at the encouragement of her childhood best friend. When she’s not thinking up her next psychological twist, she can be found playing a mean game of Scrabble, binge-watching a variety of television shows, and hanging with her goldendoodle, Dashiell.

It’s one of those stories where I wanted to keep reading to find out what happens next. Sad ending but in some ways the best ending possible.

The end was decent. The whole book was slow but it did make me want to find out what happens. The narration was horrible especially the male voice attempting to play a woman.
    Don’t waste your time. I wish I hadn’t

It was a good book, interesting plot. Somewhat expected in some parts. The worst part was when the male voice tried to sound like a female’s in the certain quotes and it just sounded like the Wayan’s brothers voice when they were playing the “White Chicks” lol otherwise worth the listen.

A domestic thriller with a slow start which gets more exciting towards the middle and ends with a bang! Mostly likeable and engaging characters except the villain.

Mmm what can I say... This book showed promise in the beginning. Being told by both parties from different views. The wife's version was very long and drawn out almost whiney for what seemed like hours. Then the husbands version rushed as if the auther needed to just get the thing over with. The story was very predictable I kinda knew what was happening as soon as the babysitter arrived.. I almost gave up reading but wanted to see if I was right..... And I was.... This book isn't a riviting read but its OK of you just want somthing on in your ear buds when you are walking the dog.. Sorry!

Good story. Except the male narrator after whose appearance, one continues to listen just for the sake of ending it.

Nice book indeed! :) Only thing that bothered me is the voice of Brianna or Bree from Steven's side..little bit awkward or annoying. Everything else is good it kept me wondering all the time:)

Why did they give away the reveal so early? At that point it just felt like we were waiting for the characters to catch up with something we already knew.

This was a great read. I liked how the story was laid out.

What I didn’t like was the recording cutting off the last few words or sentences of each paragraph.
