A book full of atmosphere, at times super exciting, at others lyrical and poetic, always authentically describing the contemporary world and bringing a multitude of characters vividly to life.

Alan Furst knows how to create atmosphere and immerse the reader /listener in to it. He also sets a good pace and doesn't overdo the details. Peter Noble as the reader is brilliant! My issue after having read a few of his books is a recurring problem with the main characters. They seem to be obsessed with sex. For historical novels there's a very descriptive sex scene every 30min or so. We get it! The hero is a stud... move on.
