About this audiobook
The Scottish Highlands, 1885. Two men, brandishing knives, attack a young woman outside a pub. Duff MacCallister steps in and saves her-killing one of the assailants. Big mistake. The attacker was the sheriff's son, and now MacCallister is marked for death. His only hope: America. Here, in the sprawling land of dreams, Duff hopes to start a new life with his American cousins. Unfortunately, the sheriff's deputies are tracking him down-with nine of the deadliest cutthroats money can buy. Blazing a trail of blood and bullets all the way to the Rockies, Duff has to kill his enemies one by one-or die trying. But this time, Duff is not alone. He has a new ally by his side. A living legend of frontier justice. The gunslinger known as Falcon MacCallister . . .

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Title: MacCallister: The Eagles Legacy (MacCallister: The Eagles Legacy #1)Author: William W. Johnstone with J. A. JohnstonePages: 352Year: 2011Publisher: PinnacleMy rating: 5 out of 5 stars. The main male character in this series is named Duff MacCallister, and he has come to America from Scotland. Why did he come? Well, you’d have to read the story to discover for yourself that piece of information. However, let me tell you that this character is full of life, loves adventure and his country. Duff served in the military, plays the bagpipes and was preparing to get married. As the tale progresses, Duff’s actions bring about dire consequences for him and his kin. Duff finds himself having to run, start life over, and maybe begin as a cattle rancher in America. But when Duff is met at a train by his cousin Falcon, the action really ramps up. You see, there are men who want both men dead but not for the same reason. These men believe if they find one of them, Duff or Falcon, they can easily find the other and eliminate them. The story shares the name of Duff’s ranch and where it is derived from, and the long ancestry that Duff and Falcon share. These familiar bonds that stretch over a vast amount of time, bring instant bonds of kinship that are only strengthened when threatened by bandits and others. The extreme measures the antagonist takes to attempt to take Duff down are extraordinary. On top of that, it was exciting reading of men living day to day and building a future with the shadow of death hovering over them. Duff is now another of the characters of the Johnstone repertoire that I will be enjoying for days to come. Now I am off to read the second book in the series, The Killing. I hope you join me in reading The Eagles Legacy series with the main male lead Duff MacCallister!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.
