About this audiobook
Their wedding was the event of the season . . . .
A shy wallflower, Caroline hasn't the faintest idea why the Duke of Readington chose her to be his bride. She could ask, but that would mean speaking to him . . . and truth be told, she'd rather have a conversation with the devil. Her new husband may be one of the most powerful men in all of England-not to mention the handsomest-but he's also cruel, callous, and has a heart colder than ice.
But it was never meant to be a love match . . .
Eric married Caroline for one simple reason: he wasn't in love with her. Having seen firsthand how love can bring a man to his knees, he's determined not to make the same mistakes his father did. Which is why he's going to spend just enough time with his new bride to assure himself of an heir before he leaves her and returns to London. At least that was the plan until a winter storm leaves them stranded. Now every time Eric turns around he finds himself stumbling over the wife he never wanted . . . but is slowly beginning to desire.
. . . or was it?
As cold winds howl outside the manor, inside of it a duke's heart is finally starting to melt as he finds himself falling for the one woman he was never supposed to love . . . but can she love him in return?
Contains mature themes.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I was happy with the book just the end was a bit hurry ed up. Sadly sometimes it was harder to understand, since I'm not native speaker.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Short, but excellent story of a broken man learning the meaning of love through an arranged marriage. Fascinating characters and excellent plot. Wish she had more audio books on Scribd.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fine stroy line and very interesting laerning how diffcult the days before are with marraige arrangment and not caring about the women feelings. It has been for quite a unique and well informed reading.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was my first Jillian Eaton novel and I loved it. I will definitely read another of her books. It was short and sweet and I especially love Christmas stories. I also loved the reader's voice. No beauty and the beast story without wolves, that made me smile. Nice story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed the story, however, I didn’t connect deeply with Eric at any point. He was not likable. I enjoyed Caroline. I enjoyed the dialogue, but I have to say that I didn’t really like the first sex scene. It felt forced, like the author had to put in a sex scene and so decided to toss it in. The actual sex was well written.
5 stars for female characterization. 5 stars for dialogue. However, 3 stars in the end because I didn’t connect to Eric and didn’t see why Caroline loved him. He wasn’t the anti hero I could root for. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I have listened to 100s of books and this is the worst narrator I have heard.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great sweet and cleaver book very much enjoyed will read more of her books
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Just good, too short, should have had more to it. If this is a series you would never know it. Being the first book the rest of the characters should have been brought in to the story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved the book AND the narration. Looking forward to the next one
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Eric is cad and he does nothing through out the book to redeem himself. Caroline is a doormat and she does nothing through out the book to prove other wise. Why they fall in love is a mystery
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Worst narrator could barely hear her speak and had to rewind just to make out what she was saying
